I'm excited for this but man the graphics leave quite a bit of desire. After playing The Witcher 3, I'm so leery of everything else, TW3 is next gen, this sorta feels like not.

Overall quality of textures, facial animations, armor.

I just watched some footage of FO4 dialog and the mouth and facial animations look like dolls. TW3 seems much more fluid and natural during dialog scenes.

That is the biggest thing for me they look like dolls in FO4.

Two very different games but imo TW3 takes the win on graphics by far.

It's going to take something amazing to knock TW3 off a pedestal in my book, story, graphics, game play, content, exploration. It gets a 10/10 on every on of these aspects for me.

FO4 does look a little lazy in the graphics department - but the entire game is stylized which IMO is flattering, there's like a little something going on with it. Might not be the best out there and they may have not even remotely came close to hyper realism but all in all the design of the game looks to be like an old game engine with some duct tape put around it to ship it out in time.

Fairly certain with the recent backlash of fans and the elephant in the room being the quality of graphics for a game that doesn't exist on last gen systems will motivate their next project to look entirely better.

Either way I was poking fun at you because you used the term next gen when it couldn't be furthest from the truth - we haven't really experience next gen yet because developers are forced to design games for these plastic boxes that have inferior hardware compared to full fledge gaming PC's and that's just simply the fact of the industry, currently.

Who knows - maybe Sony and Microsoft will magically release a dope new version of PS4 or Xbox One for us, sort of how we do phone trade ins for the newest/latest version, that is if that whole Nintendo NX rumor to have one insane beefy machine sort of "leaked" from the dev kits is actually true - which simply motivates companies to compete.

Also for people who think trade ups for newer consoles is ridiculous, it sure as hell is but that iPhone 6S or latest android is about 600+ dollars off contract, that's aligned with a price of a newer console (since the current ones are about 350-450 a pop)

What I meant by next gen is the overall package of Tw3. It is leaps and bounds to me over anything else similar. FO4 does not scream next gen, to me next gen is something that steps over what we have been playing.

I'm just a fan of TW3 I guess.

As for the little plastic boxes, be glad they are on the market. They are the reason we have so many games, it's all about financial gain for these companies. If they did not have the money coming in the games would stop.
With these little plastic boxes shifting to a more pc styled hardware it's easier for everyone to develop.

The plastic boxes are not the problem, it's developers failing to take advantage of our Metal boxes, look at the most recent batman, it's the devs not the hardware.

I'm a PC guy btw, I do know plastic boxes have a purpose, they also bring unique experiences as well.

How nice of them to give us more control over graphical settings as a way to *completely* avoid taking accountability for the broken Xbox settings.

Well, I still crashed like 5 times last night within two hours. So there’s that.

I had to stop. The game is not good. I'd rather play Skyrim and that game isn't that good either.

I Think It's About Time We Realize Fallout 4 Wasn't That Bad

Ahmed from eXputer: "2015's Fallout 4 received harsh criticism upon launching, but I think it was unwarranted and the game deserves more praise than it got."

helicoptergirl36d ago

It was totally that bad. I couldn't finish the campaign it was so bland and boring as I recall. Got so sick of it. 1000 stimpaks on hard. It is very rare that I play half a game and then just quit. I usually always finish it. But i was so bored with this game I just stopped and never went back and never regretted it. Just thinking about that game makes me shudder

Furesis36d ago

That's exactly what happened to me too lmao
Fallout 4 is not a fallout game period it's a bethesda game

The comparison with Skyrim is mind-boggling. Yes, Skyrim has streamlined many of the systems that Morrowind introduced. However, it did not tamper with the core of the Elder Scrolls franchise; it did not diminish the freedom and sense of exploration that made Bethesda RPGs famous. Fallout 4, on the other hand, did exactly that to the Fallout series. It eliminated what made Fallout such a beloved series to play. There are no consequences for your choices, no reason to explore, and barely any interesting set pieces in the game.

It's not terrible, but it's a painfully mediocre game in a franchise that typically doesn't produce such mediocrity. So that is why people see it as bad, the bar is just much higher.

anast35d ago

They both feel the same because they are, it's just that one has swords and magic and the other has swords and guns.

anast35d ago

I'm replaying it now. It sucks. I'm about 30 hours in and thinking about quitting again. I am so tired of the dialogue I just spam a random button because it doesn't matter. The upgrade just feels like a graphical mod, everything else is not good.

Good-Smurf35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

I couldn't play the game as-is it was insanely boring and grindy and the grind itself are not fun at all.
Mods helped me stomach the game a bit better but after a while I just stopped playing and uninstalled it because the game did nothing after the first few hours to give me any motivation to keep playing it, it just became a mindless looter shooter with obsession in settlement building and defending.
Compared to F3 and FNV, F4 was barely a mediocre game it wasn't bad but it's also very forgettable entry.

MrDead35d ago

It's not that bad after 300+ mods that fix it's issues and make the game fun... but lets not talk about mods right now as they are f****d.
