Phil writes, "Yoshi fans have had a bit of a rough go of it since the Super Nintendo classic, Yoshi's Island, released. While Yoshi's Story on the Nintendo 64 delivered quaint, cutesy charm, it didn't follow the typical structure fans of Yoshi's Island were expecting. Nintendo has since left development of direct sequels of Yoshi's Island to lesser developers like Artoon with the Nintendo DS's Yoshi's Island DS and the Nintendo 3DS's Yoshi's New Island. While these games are by no means bad by any stretch of the imagination, they lack the originality, the superb level design, and the charm of the SNES original.
Now, Good Feel, hardly a lesser development as the studio is fresh off its two Wii games, Wario Land: Shake It! and Kirby's Epic Yarn, is sitting in the driver's seat, and its take on the Yoshi's Island formula is Yoshi's Woolly World. Not only does this Wii U exclusive hit many of the same high notes of the SNES classic, it actually surpasses the game in some regards. Yoshi's Island fans waiting for a true successor with bated breath can now stop and relax. Yoshi's Woolly World is the real deal."
NE: "We take a look at Yoshi's Woolly World, one of the rare Nintendo-published games that did not receive a Switch port."
The Wii U was full of some of Nintendo's best games, which allowed you to go on epic adventures that only Nintendo could offer. Unfortunately though, nobody played these games.
Because of this, Nintendo are wisely porting the majority of the Wii U's library. Porting over games from the Wii U to the Switch has many advantages such as allowing a whole new audience to experience great titles and it is so much cheaper to make a port than a whole new game.
Unfortunately there are numerous games rotting away on the Wii U, that would make great additions to the Switch's library.
Some of the best Wii U games have yet to be ported to Switch, so GCP have come up with their top 10 Wii U ports they want to see still come to Nintendo Switch.
Xenoblade X, Star Fox Zero, and Super Mario 3D World/Maker are the best bets IMO.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions,Xenoblade X and The Wonderful 101 are the only ones I want now.
