In the end, Elite: Dangerous isn’t a terrible game, but I don’t think it was made for mass appeal.

"In the end, Elite: Dangerous isn’t a terrible game, but ..."

Not something you usually read in an 8/10 review!

I do own the game (I helped kickstart it) and I even bought a hotas for it but yeah it's pretty niche. I got bored with it fairly quickly and all the additions to the game (present and future) that actually make me want to play it and imo make it a complete game are not free. I appreciate they are limited in budget but I can't help be a little disappointed.

Playing on my xb1 me n my mate, we wing up, it never gets boring.. the poster made elite dangerous to feel as if your stood still not doing anything, but your always busy. Also you do not have to pump your life into the game, you could choose half hour or n hour or for as long as you like, the game itself has plenty to do and i love it.

Frontier continue to improve this game, at the momenf its ship only, but with horizons added you get to go down on planets, we will also get our own buggy n its huge, there will be walking on stations, allowing multiple players in one ship, fps combat, crafting system, fighters being deployed from our ships and so much more..

Frontier have been amanzingly active with updates and keeping in touch with the community of both pc and xbox one. This is one game i know if its in your collection it is money well spent, plus its a wel worth investment.

The poster also says it wasnt made for the masses, the poster doesnt relize how much of a fan following elite has got since it first cam out decades ago, its been remoddled and beautifully redone and its a treat to play. But yeah id say its millions that play this, not thousands, so yes it deffo is for the masses..

Good game. Too bad they stopped console support.

Jingsing37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Seems a bit ridiculous that No Man's Sky was able to support all formats and this game couldn't. It didn't help that they were selling the game piece meal either. e.g. buy this expansion so you can walk on planets. I feel like the damage is done and they should probably shut the thing down.

The irony is No Man's Sky is what Elite used to be and can be played completely offline.

You can still get a good 200 to 300 hours out of it on console, but I agree with everything you posted. It's really a shame because I like the art so much better than NMS.
