With Destiny year one bringing some mixed feelings about the game for players many have found it difficult to justify spending the money on The Taken King. Bobby of Gamer Assault Weekly gives you five reasons why you should reconsider.
Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.
That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it
For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.
In Episode 1 of Spot On, a new weekly news show, Gamespot talks about the dangers of chasing a trend.
Playing Destiny 1 on PC has been something fans have been requesting for years. It looks like Destiny 1 is now playable on PC via the RPCS3 emulator.
I'll be honest, Destiny year one was boring. It was the skeleton of a game and while I played it, it was never something I felt like I wanted to drop all my time into. The Taken King however is the complete opposite, there is an abundance of things to do, there's a story, there's reasons that make me go in and play the game everyday for 4-6 hours. It's such a stark difference in the two you almost can't compare them. TTK is worth playing.
I was in the fence the whole time and didn't buy it until I had several friends day they would. This coming from someone with almost 1000 hours in year one. SO glad I did. Still not finished all the new content.
The best indication for future behaviour is past behaviour so...
£40 for the base game
£20 for dlc 1
£20 for dlc 2
£40 for the first expansion
THEN adds microtransaction style currency
So the people who bought the game at launch and bought the dlc's has paid £120/$180 without buying any coins.
Worth a try if you want to spend half the price of a damn console on one game... And I am guessing that there will be more on top of that
Destiny in right now the best FPS for PVP and PVE, but it took time. Now i dont have enough time to play with the 3 guardians (titan, Warlock and Hunter), because there so much to do on PVP or PVE.
I was originally against TTK.. But I bit the bullet and bought it a week or so after in launched..
I like the changes and all the subtle small things...
it's not just the updated story/voice.. it's the missions... the taken are pretty damn cool..
all the hidden little secrets - like the black spindle mission..
all the little subtle things that you can scan with your ghost.
the emotes are cool. (regardless of your thoughts on the microtransaction part)
the whole thing with the alliegence to one of the factions.. the gunsmith gun data stuff..
the calcified fragments..
Granted I usually play Crucible most of the time. I'm digging the changes.
