Kinda odd that it's mentioning hololense like it's anything to do with VR and is pretty much not for gaming really. To answer the question tho I don't care who wins the "race" i am just glad I am around to see it play out.
Is VR going to win like 3DTV did, or like motion controls did? VR is going nowhere, but will be about as popular as a steering wheel at its peak before the fad dies for gaming. Simply because OR and Hololens are for PC, Morpheus has no chance.
