Epic Games Says There is a AAA Game in Development Using Unreal Engine 4, Resident Evil 7?

SegmentNext - Epic Games Japan has revealed a very interesting piece of information. As you know, Unreal Engine 4 is one of the most popular engines we have in the industry today, many games are using it. For instance, we have Tekken 7, Kingdom Hearts III, Shenmue III and much more.

I really hope not. They have one of the most Jaw Dropping engine that is Pantha Ray engine that i always pronounce wrong.

Seriously, the lighting in that engine is beast ad visuals in general looks amazing. It will be a damn shame if its RE7.

My guess its Resident Evil 2 Remake.

DMC isn't coming that's for sure. Probably RE2 which should be good.

I really disliked UE3 games last gen with the annoying texture pop in everywhere you went. That said UE4 is not UE3 and expect FFVII and RE2 to look absolutely amazing especially giving the fact they can build it straight up on stronger hardware as the PS4 instead of nerfing it down to X1. Exciting times for Sony!!

It's either RE2 remake or FFVII remake, either way the UE4 engine is capable of beautiful visuals. Allison Road also looks seriously realistic on UE4.

KH3/SFV/Tekken 7 are on UE4. But this is another AAA title.

And yes SFV is a AAA title.

He may not mean announced by Capcom. Yoshida has stated Sony Bend is developing their biggest title ever, a AAA game using Unreal 4 that is hinted to be announced at PSX in December.

I never understood why they made the engine in the first place if they didn't intend to use it for their own games. I'm not a programmer or anything, but I can only assume that developing a new engine is hard. With that said, Deep Down, which is the only game I've seen running on the engine so far, looks incredible!

I am pretty sure they will use it on most of their future games.

Resident Evil 7 must be on that engine. It looks jaw dropping. I can imagine RE7 reaching CGI levels with that engine.

Agreed, I'm pretty sure years ago when PS4 was announced and Deep Down was first show, they stated an RE game was being made with panta rhei. My guess would be RE7.

Gears 4 is already announced. This is an unannounced game expected to be revealed b the end of the year.

lol, considering Capcom's track record lately, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm expecting PC, PS4 and XONE but a PS4 only title wouldn't really surprise me at all.

Consider they are not doing so well right now and Nintendo, Sony and MS have all published some of their titles...I think they might want to start scaling back and having some more realistic financial goals as they could be right behind Konami very soon and at least Konami has a damn out of the industry.

Umbrella Corps is also a console exclusive on the PS4 so it wouldn't surprise me if RE7 is a console exclusive on the PS4 either.

Also.. if anyone remembers this article, Capcom kinda hinted at the notion that they may be developing more PS4 exclusives. This gen Capcom and Sony are in bed together. We might just get an RE7 announcement at PSX.

Agreed. I didn't even know that title was exclusive until I couldn't find any other versions of it listed.

I think they are playing it safe and not stretching themselves out and sticking to Japanese hardware to focus sales like Square is doing right now, like hell Sega's been doing.

I think its funny all the hate Sega gets, yet Square and Capcom are now following their lead with lowering the number of platforms they release titles on.

Capcom out of them really, really needs the stability as they can't afford to keep losing money on big risk that don't pan out. They can't be Japan's EA and I think they need to bring focus back on quality and realistic financial goals.
