Battlefront is not Battlefield – Star Wars is for everyone

Star Wars Battlefront can’t be just Battlefield in dress-ups, but nor can it afford to bore hardcore shooter fans. How is DICE stepping to this tightrope balancing act?

Translation = Star Wars BattleFront will cater to casuals. Battlefield veterans - "This is not the FPS you are looking for"

To be honest though, I don't really mind. I was never expecting a star wars game to be hardcore - not in this day and age, especially when Disney practically own the IP. As long as it's loads of fun, and I can play couch co-op/multiplayer then I'm all in.

Just got an email yesterday about the OPEN test Beta. Oct 8th - 12th. All you need is an EA account. So if you have any game that you have used from EA you are good.

THIS IS NOT BATTLEFIELD.. its going to casual, fun just like the first 2 Battlefronts. They weren't overly complicated like Battlefield and this one wont be either. Just casual fun... if its ANYTHING like the Alpha that i and other tested a few months back, its going to be awesome..

Wait what? Do we have to have an Origin account to get into the Battlefront Beta? I have one, from my BF4 days, but I thought this was open to all platforms not just PC?!?!

I'll say it:

I love Star Wars, but all the gameplay I've watched so far makes this game look kind of boring and lifeless.

There doesn't seem to be a ton of skill going on in the game at all, just a bunch of people running around pretending to be in Star Wars.

Hype is through the roof for Episode 7: Force Awakens, but this game just isn't doing it for me.

* I also need to mention that I've never played the first two battlefront games either, so that may factor in a bit.

* I'll be playing Halo 5, it just appeals to me more in terms of skill being involved with the gameplay.

Battlefront doesn't look bad, but it does look like it will get boring pretty quick.

I hope it's awesome though and does well, and maybe after it's released I'll decide that maybe I do want to try it out, but nothing I've seen yet shows me that this will be some kind of masterpiece.

It looks so bland in terms of gameplay.

I don't like competitive FPS (because I stink at them), but I do love Star Wars. What should I do!? The beta will definitely help me decide if it's a buy or a pass.

I mean..you would sorta like Battlefield too then. Its a team based game where you can contribute to your team and not really get lots of kills yet rank higher then most players.

Most times I got the support route and spot with recon, or give medic aid or give ammo and cover fire etc.

Really depends on the game, or TF2's also a good example.

But I'm sure Star Wars isn't aiming for that from what I saw .

Gameplay looks bad, but I will check the open beta, got no hopes for this one tho.

I could care less about multilayer and that seems to be the focus with this one. Too bad because so many great things could be done with a star wars campaign. Unless i hear good things from a trusted source I'm passing on this.
