"VGChartz' William D'Angelo: "Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U in Europe in August we can how much the PlayStation 4 has continued to dominate hardware sales in the region; its lead has continued to grow month after month. It has now sold significantly more than the Xbox One and Wii U combined and has 62 percent market share.

The PS4 has sold 9.93 million units lifetime, the Xbox One 3.63 million units, and the Wii U 2.40 million units.

Xbox One Total Sales: 3,633,954

Its harder to publish a game to EU than US, it also cost more. That why some localization companies release their games in US first.

PlayStation consoles always come out on top in Europe. That's Sony's biggest stronghold

PS4 selling 2 times more than xbone and wiiu conbined.. this is slaughter, I don't even understand how people still think that these consoles are competing with PS4 when PS4 is light years ahead.

Lol. PS4 sold 4times more than X1 in the month of Gamescom where certain people and media said there would be shift in sales. Well i guess European knows which console provide steady exclusive throughout the year.

It's not really a case of exclusives now, it's more that the vast majority of people are on this so that's where the publishers will swarm. And it's the console that most of your friends will have.

But obviously having things like Uncharted 4 to obliterate the gaming landscape doesn't hurt!

I didn't know the Xbone's market share in Europe was only a third...

Interesting the X1 & Wii U are as close in EU as X1 & PS4 are in N. America. 1 Million+ units difference. 10 Million PS4's sold in Europe within 22 months is astounding. 3-1 what the X1 has sold. That's beyond, beyond...beyoooond incredible!

Individually, not so much. But we're not immune to the effects these numbers have on the console makers, publishers, developers.

It's been said time and time again that better numbers means better software support. That obviously affects us, as gamers, because it affects games we get to play. Smaller titles get better chances of success, and they could even leave their own regions to become hits elsewhere.

Of course, it's not a guarantee, but it's certainly something we know can and does happen.

and the ps4 has numbers, so what's the problem? you should be the happiest person here yet all you do is complain about how people treat sony while your attitude in xbox articles questions your intentions.

don't worry, the ps4 is getting excellent support yet you seem awfully interested in everything pertaining to the xbox one yet show no signs of ever getting one.

the fact is the wii u is the odd one out. they are the ones who are lacking support, not the ps4 and xbox one. so if you are concerned, then concern yourself around the wii u and stop worrying about what's happening with the xbox one and ps4. they will do just fine.
