if the launch game is anything like the Alpha, this is going to be one of the most authentic (and fun) Star Wars game to date. cant wait for it..

You know the space battle were by far the most boring part of that game. Rose tinted glasses and nostalgia are really affecting people these days.

Seriously, Kotor...jedi knight series etc..didn't, have space battles..yet they were the best star wars games

Eh..as far as i'm concerned its okay. I'm glad they're trying to get their ground battles done right first. Like the original devs of battlefront. In Dices sequel or DLC there will be space battles. Just like The original devs.

Yes but even so y not. If they've had all this time to make the perfect game why not include something that takes it out of the realm of a battlefield clone. Don't get me wrong I'm getting this game but I am not sold that it's the perfect star wars game. I believe it's gonna leave a lot to be desired and gonna shove DLC in our face to be the best that we can afford to be. But if they wanted to push it past it's predecessors I don't think they've achieved that.

As a BF fan, how is this a clone? This game has no classes, doesn't even play the same, doesn't even have the same gameplay types etc.

Where did you hear it was a clone? That is like saying Mirror's Edge is a BF clone because its by DICE and in first person.

What makes it a clone please?

A game is much more then bullet point features, this game is already beyond any Star Wars game ever to be released. They can save space battles for the next game as that isn't some feature that is an easy thing to pull off.

Doing space battles on this game is not the same as a 10 year old game with no real time physics, lighting, shadows, textures, destruction etc. Your asking for a much more difficult task today then it was 10 years ago.

They are not just going to make a textureless game, low poly count, no physics etc JUST for a feature, as to do that would actually hurt DICE as a team and hurt fans of the game. They want Space battles as in 2015 SPACE BATTLES, with all the complex, graphic and functional features we expect in a next gen game.

That is like asking for an airship in a FF game to have the same function as it did in FFIV, but to be up to graphical standards of next gen, yet expect it to be the same task....

and fyi DICE didn't make Star Wars BF1 nor 2, this is their first Star Wars game, they have zero ode to continue from another teams work, let them get experience working on the IP before asking of them to move mountains.

I'm pretty sure DICE's Star Wars BF will blow past the first 2 games in sales in the first day and pretty sure when the second one gets space battles, they will continue to destroy the last teams games in every regard.

I think many folks exaggerate the last SW BF a bit much, its why the last one get canned right? Its why the first 2 got low sales right? You sure space battles really matter THAT much? Well see later this fall how much it matters.
