SCIV: Leaked Vader vs Yoda Video & Screens Point To Possible DLC

Ripten writes:

"The rumor surrounding the possibility of being able to download Yoda on the PS3, and Vader on the 360, edged a tad bit closer to reality today, as supposed leaked in-game screens may confirm their simultaneous existence in the game...

Update: Video has recently surfaced which supports the claim made by the images above. Below is what appears to be an in-game video depicting Yoda battling it out with none other than Darth Vader himself."

I really hope this is true, otherwise it is a total waste of a great idea for SC4.

Twizlex6176d ago

This only matters to me because Vader is cool and if people got stuck with just Yoda, that would suck.

PR0F3TA6176d ago

@Twizlex...

you mean 360 owners don't want to get stuck with Yoda, PS3 owners don't really have yoda DLC as a main priority in the game as 360 owners do with Vader

Bombibomb6176d ago (Edited 6176d ago )

PS3 owners don't want Yoda. I think I speak for everyone when I say that after seeing that leaked gameplay video of Yoda posted earlier, we're not interested. Vader should stay exclusive otherwise it'd be an unfair trade.

jaja14346176d ago

^^^
I'm a PS3 owner and I would personally prefer Yoda as I generally prefer smaller/faster characters over large ones in fighting games.

In any event this makes your statement that "you speak for everyone" quite wrong and I find it very presumptuous and silly that you would think you can/do speak for everyone.

incogneato6176d ago

mixing both characters sucks, now each version wont have its own personality. i prefer they stay seperate

kingOVsticks6176d ago

all the sony fans were so happy that the playstation version of soul calibers has the best exclusive character....A sony fan just can't have nothin?

Bnet3436176d ago

It's sad how people start wars because of exclusive characters. Whatever man.

leila016176d ago (Edited 6176d ago )

I agree with you. that's why I hate posting on this website; no matter what you write people find ways to turn it into a fanboy/girl comment.
and "console wars" starts with every little information, news... *sigh*

ash_divine6176d ago

in the event that it is the real thing, I guess that'd be pretty cool. but matching Yoda against Vador (which is the only reason most people want both) will get old very fast.

Sandwich Bender6176d ago

Oh, it will get old, but not being able to pit them against each other is a waste.

killcycle6176d ago (Edited 6176d ago )

in the video yoda used a grab attack.
every character has to be edited so the looks of the grabs apply ok on all characters.

what im trying to say is that this aint fake at all.

i personally dont want yoda. the thought of having another GON from tekken 3 hurts my head but it could be some kind of proto-type version that only the developers have which contains both.

however come to think of it i remember an old article about a gamecube nerd that found a way to put spawn and hehachifrom the soul 2 series on his gamecube :p

Bombibomb6176d ago (Edited 6176d ago )

Yep. Report it. http://www.n4g.com/events_e...

It was photo shopped.

Nostradavis6176d ago (Edited 6176d ago )

Where is the proof that this is shopped? Please show me? Many sites, including AOL's Joystiq and Gawker's Kotaku are reporting this rumor as well.

You "Photoshop experts" should be presenting your case a little clearer before dismissing something clearly being submitted as a rumor.

The gaming GOD6176d ago (Edited 6176d ago )

And no Joystiq and Kotaku aren't credible sources. They've both been known to add fire to false news

Besides, look at the floor. The rug is off. Whoever made this pic didn't align the rug evenly

It might be a fact that you can have yoda and vader in the same game. But THAT pic is shopped

Rob0g0rilla6176d ago (Edited 6176d ago )

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

I don't blame them for thinking it's fake when they clearly stated they had a character exclusive to each system.

Exclusive my ass

It'll be pretty funny if they charge people for this.

Soul Calibur IV - 15 Years of Soul

Soul Calibur IV launched worldwide 15 years ago, bringing with it the best performance of the series to date.

Terry_B693d ago

Hell no. It was the start of the downfall (SCV) of the series. Huge downstep from the giant SCIII

purple101693d ago

Switched to unreal engine. Ruined it.

Yi-Long692d ago (Edited 692d ago )

Used to love this series, probably my favorite 3D fighter, perhaps together with the now also dead Dead or Alive (2-3-4), but as with so many games in the fighting genre, their short-term greed (season passes) has made me lose all interest, sadly …

sagapo692d ago

Yeah, I remember playing Soul Caliber on my dreamcast at the time, that was insane!

sosro692d ago (Edited 692d ago )

the first three are much better games.

Walweeze692d ago

Loved Number 2 and 3( loved all the solo modes like chronicle of the sword ) so was super hyped when 4 came out but the lack of single player content was disappointing. Still love soul calibur to this day though

DarXyde691d ago

2 was definitely the golden era of Soul Calibur for me. I was a bit conflicted about it at times because there were 3 different versions (I liked the PS2 version for controls, I liked playing as Spawn the most, and I thought the addition of Link was really awesome). Even so, the single player content was outstanding. Easily the most fun I've had with a fighting game, followed closely by Tekken 5's single player modes

In defence of Soul Calibur 4's horrible Star Wars guest characters

From VG247: "Link suits the world of Soul Calibur. The elf-like little twink fit into the roster as well as any sword-wielding fantasy hero could – facing off against the likes of the machiavellian Frenchman Raphael, the inhuman hellspawn Astaroth, or the horny gimp Voldo, the Legend of Zelda guest character fits right in. Weaponry, aesthetic, move set… all of it gels with Soul Calibur’s camp high fantasy world – even when you’re pulling massive bombs out of God-knows-where and hurling them across the stage. It just fits.

You know what doesn’t fit, though? Lightsabers. No amount of sci-fi reasoning, magic, or blaming it on wizards can make Yoda, Darth Vader, and (eurgh) Starkiller fit in the war-torn European and Silk Road settings of Soul Calibur. It just doesn’t track. Why Bandai Namco decided to shoehorn the trio of characters into the fourth Soul Calibur game, then, remains a mystery; it’s damaging to both brands, it makes no sense canonically, and – more than anything else – it’s just all a bit tacky (or should that be Taki?)"
