Why did Five Nights at Freddy’s stop working?

Everybody by now has most likely at least heard of Five Nights at Freddy’s, whether that’s because a friend was talking about it, a youtuber you follow played it or maybe you have actually played it yourself. One thing remains certain though, after a while the scares stop working, the game falls into a pattern and those screams of failure from the cast of FNAF start to grate on you. They stop making you jump and start making you sigh as you head back to the beginning of the night once more.
