Ever since the new generation of platforms hit the market, frame-rate has become a hotly debated topic among gaming fans. Not immune to the discussion, Dragon Age: Inquisition users have repeatedly point out the fact that BioWare’s most recent release has cutscenes locked to 30 frames-per-second (FPS) on PC. In the industry today, there are many gamers that feel that 30 FPS is simply too low, while others argue that story and scope are far more important than frame-rate in titles like Dragon Age: Inquisition.
In the face of the debate, BioWare has now admitted that they are interested in pushing the frame-rate of Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s cutscenes beyond what they are currently locked at. After one player inquired if the game would ever be patched to include better frame-rates, Dragon Age: Inquisition executive producer Mark Darrah has now revealed that the team is currently seeing if they can tweak the systems to reach rates that are higher than 30 FPS. The producer did not, however, that they may not be able to increase the frame-rates even if they want.
Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.
Amazon announced a partnership with Electronic Arts to deliver even more free games and in-game content to Prime Gaming subscribers.
Amazon announced the Prime Gaming gifts for the month of November: Control Ultimate Edition, Dragon Age Inquisition, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and more.
The quality of these free games has been awesome. Before anyone says they are not free I was already giving Amazon $6 a month for prime shipping and video this isn't why I pay for my subscription
How does Prime Gaming work? Do you keep the games, or is it only as long as you have Prime?
lol Nice distraction from how they're now charging people to increase viewership. It's "just an option." /wink lol
Nah, for me FPS isn't priority. If they can achieve 60FPS its good for me, if they can't, doesn't change nothing for me...
If a game has depth, great story, an strong character and fluid controls its already perfect.
You can just give unlock framerate option maybe a week after launch (People will have seen the pretty). that little option could make a difference.
Battles are chaotic enough at 30fps. At 60 you wouldnt be able to see what the hell is going on. If you use the strategy camera what diff does it make? Leave the freaking game alone. Spend your resources on making a sequel instead. Try to get that at 60fps . The last thing we need is a Dragon age Goty edition running at60fps at the expense of getting us a new game to experience.
This and the recent Dying Light late patch upgrade is setting up a nice trend for 2015. Developers supporting their games months after launch shows that they actually care about their games. And not just preorders.
