Socom's spiritual successor has come under heavy fire from the community recently and here's why!
Twenty years after the Virus Wars, you return to Gota IV as part of the newly formed Söldner-X defense force. Your mission: to free the galaxy from the D'aarg, a technologically superior race that is threatening mankind. eastasiasoft promise that Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype delivers a must-have, Shoot-‘Em-Up experience, blending classic gameplay with the astonishing audio-visual capabilities of the PlayStation 3 system.
Touted as the spiritual successor to the SOCOM series, H-Hour: World’s Elite has now entered the Beta stage of development and work has begun on the PS4 version of the game.
Really hope this game takes off...if you're interestred in starting clan, let me know!
Wonder if I'll get my PS4 copy when I pledged to back this a long time ago on Kickstarter? Or is that campaign promise dead?
One of the reasons I bought a PS4. I'll be ready for it whenever it releases.
I thought they cancelled this. The first and only game I supported through Kickstarter. I learned from that mistake.
Last year I wrote an article titled, The State of SOCOM. I discussed my
love and history for the beloved third person shooter that helped pioneer
online multiplayer on consoles. It has been six years since we last had a
new SOCOM game.
Baffles me as to why they have not done anything with this franchise. Seeing as how it was #1 on the official PlayStation poll.
With all the trash put up weekly on the App Store why has nobody done a clone of this yet. I've been playing Defiance as my go to 3rd person since 2013 but still nothing like that old school Socom/Socom 2 up all night gameplay.
the only game on that list that's like socom is wild land if you want socom type games then you will have to invest in a PC
RAINBOW SIX: is the closest you'll get to Socom.
Also, in response to @lookatthisi
They let go the creators, and I think socom is a game that's hard to clone even the creators had a hard time making Socom 2, Socom 3.
they really should be honest (or half honest) with whats really going on if they know whats good for them. if they are caught being shady AND not devlivering on their promises, there is gonna be HELL. But if they just come out and say "look the game needs more time weve been going through financial issues" etc. dude we'd totally undestand. weve waited a long time, a litle bit longer is nothing to us, were just thankfull someone is Trying!!
Nooooo!! Was looking forward to playing this game. I can understand the financial nightmare they could be in. I have been actively following Bugbear's Next Car Game Wreckfest and they were forced to release a tech demo early because they were on the verge of bankruptcy. Now they are doing pretty well and the game has a ton of potential. If H hour does go into Steam early access I hope they go above and beyond for those that paid $60 or more.
Nice to see an article from MWN's website.
Yes. As a backer, I can confirm this. Livid.
As a huge SoCom fan I am glad I didn't support this mess.
Put down $150 for a lousy t shirt, hat, and a glow in the dark badge. I'm a sucker.
