VR vs. Gear VR for Galaxy S6

VRFocus- The technology industry can be hard to keep up with. Anyone that’s followed the likes of Samsung, Google and more can attest to that. Take Gear VR, for example. In many countries Samsung’s smartphone-based virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) is less than a month old. While the device debuted in the US in December 2014 it only started to roll out in other territories in late January 2015. Despite this, there’s already talk of a new version of the device that could be revealed in just a few weeks’ time. But should reports of this new device turn out to be true, then early adopters need not feel betrayed.

The controller ships with an in-built rechargeable battery, which promises 40 hours of uninterrupted gameplay per charge. It also features a Samsung Gaming Hub home button, which will let you launch the dedicated Gaming Hub instantly."

another one bites the dust. When will these companies learn gaming isn't that easy to break into.

crazyCoconuts254d ago

but this one has such a catchy logo /s

DOMination-254d ago

Seems a bit harsh. It's just an accessory for their app on smart tvs and monitors. Maybe Samsung have bigger plans down the line but I don't think anyone is expecting this product to change the world, Samsung included.

There is no dust to bite... this isnt like stadia. This is for playing games either from the mobile store or xcloud or geforce now through the smart tv. Like playing on your phone or tablet only a much much bigger screen.

Too expensive for what it is.

2027: MS stops making Xbox consoles
2029: Samsung starts making Xbox consoles

j/k

NotoriousWhiz254d ago

You kid, but when Microsoft leaves, expect someone else to enter. Maybe Amazon. Maybe Netflix.

QuantumMechanic253d ago

Samsung is in bed with MS and shows latent interest in the gaming market. They are also a hardware manufacturer. It seems totally reasonable that Samsung is in a prime position to take over the Xbox hardware properties should MS bow out of the market.
