Ever since the Windows 10 event, there is a lot of expectations regarding DirectX 12 and how it can possibly change the games development scene on Xbox One and PC.
At GameStack Live, Microsoft announced and released the new DirectX 12 Agility SDK, which delivers DX12 Ultimate features to a larger base. There will benefits for Xbox, too.
Pretty cool. Should help devs adopt more modern rendering techniques on both PC & Xbox rather than have to target old versions to cover the majority of their users.
DSOGaming writes: "NVIDIA has just released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 451.48 WHQL driver adds full support for the DirectX 12 Ultimate graphics API. Additionally, this driver supports Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling when used with the Windows 10 May 2020 Update."
DSOGaming writes: "Microsoft has released the highly anticipated May 2020 Update for Windows 10. This Update brings support for both WDDM 2.7 and DirectX 12 Ultimate. Moreover, it packs some Xbox Game Bar improvements."
Crash restart lockup repeat. Windows. Wonder what will happen to people who take health advice from its creator.
As a note: WDDM 2.7 requires you to have updated drivers (which currently no official WQHL driver w/ support is available for Nvidia yet. Only development branch 450.xx). Also you need a 7th gen or newer Intel CPU w/ igpu, or a 10 series or newer Nvidia GPU, or latest AMD offerings.
Last time I update, the ethernet driver wasnt available so no matter what (even factory reset) I can't go online. The only way to update is to go online lol. Well I always wanted an offline laptop, so I guess got what I wish for :/
Guess that's enough confirmation right there on DX12
Damn, Brad Wardell is Heman76's go-to guy for the DX12 hope and dreams.
If he finds out that Wardell knows something about PS4's API that will make its fans "rejoice" as he put it, then he'll probably put it down to the dude "trolling" us, just like he believes Phil Spencer was only trolling us by telling us that DX12 would not have a massive impact on the Xbox One, rather than being realistic.
I wonder what on Earth he could possibly know about Sony's internal API, but interesting outlook nonetheless.

Case in point? That couldn't be further from the truth. I read the entire tweet, so don't go all condescending on my ass. I've never ever "poo-pooed" DX12's ability to improve the Xbone's development pipeline. I've never said DX12 will not help the Xbone improve. I've been realistic and said it won't help as much as most hardcore fans are suggesting, and it looks like I'm right.
My comment was in response to people like Heman76 who believe that DX12 will (in his own words) "stomp" the PS4. If I was "poo pooing DX12" you would've been able to draw that from my comment.
I won't believe what the man is saying until i see it.
I'm interested in seeing how the dx12 down players take this news. On one hand they'll say he's an idiot for suggesting they'll eat crow eventually about dx12. Then on the other they'll say he's spot on about ps4 having something surprising coming soon.
Either way it's good to hear both consoles should have some nice improvements/surprises coming this year
