Is Pokemon Shuffle's Freemium Direction a Bad Sign?

BNR: One of the games announced that caught my attention was Pokemon Shuffle- it’s a free to play match-three game (not entirely unlike Puzzle & Dragons Z), and rather like the dreadfully addictive Candy Crush, it employs a microtransaction system. In the game, you have five hearts- every time you play, a heart is used, and it takes time for the hearts to be restored. Sound familiar?

It was also mentioned that there's various in-game methods to restore hearts, unlike most freemium games that demand you spend a few cents to refill them.

Appreciating Nintendo puzzle games' accessibility

There is something about a good puzzle game. They tend to be one of the most welcoming genres, with easy to understand concepts, difficulty that can grow with players and matches that may be brief or even endless. Well crafted ones are accessible, which is great. When it comes to Nintendo, some of the puzzle games it has created and published go a step further. While not all of their games accommodate people who might be colorblind, quite a few do.
