PSA: Don’t sell all valuables in Dragon Age: Inquisition

The valuables section of your inventory in Dragon Age: Inquisition holds all manner of strange items. From wooden figurines to jewelry and gems, it all gets lumped into the valuables tab. This can then easily be cleared with the “sell all” button when you get to a merchant. However, this is not a good idea – sorry everyone, it’s best to behave like a hoarder.

What can u do if u already sold them? Can u replay the older missions and get the items again?

Nope.

Here's a hint, if they're red or yellow, keep them.

Blue valuables can be gotten from killing things again.

I unfortunately accidentally sold one of my red items and can't get it back.

To be honest, they should make these sort of items unsellable and not take up inventory slots. I really hate games that require you to keep track of important quest items.

Some platforms are reporting that the buy back option has a long enough memory to get your loot back, but on PS4 I wasn't so lucky.

Insane, I start off with Hard or whatever exists in its place first. I leave Nightmare, Legendary, etc for my second run through.

Really enjoying the game, but this has been my biggest gripe. I noticed early on that I accidentally sold a ton of bestiary items because they were in "valuables". The game has too much asinine loot as it is without having to manage what is essentially the "junk" tab. This needs a patch asap.

Can you sell gems, or are they needed for something? They take quite a chunk off of my inventory space.

Are you f*****g kidding me? I've sold well over 100 valuables. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. That's some major bullsh*t. Hopefully they patch it and return items into the inventory as unsellable quest items instead of giving no indication that you need them.

i don't know if items are needed for quests later, but like the article says, hand in any research items first before selling valuables.

why are they even listed under valuables anyway?
they should have their own tab, they're not just junk to be sold, they serve an actual purpose.

Managing what is needed and what is junk is easy. Take all the valuables you collect to the researcher lady and whatever does not get removed from your inventory is not needed.

The only exception to this that I've seen is that every now and then when you establish a camp and inspect the requisitions table to construct some new item, it may require something out of the valuables tab.

So far though, it has only needed common items like a necklace or rotting flesh or something that you should already have more than 1 of.
