It’s not often that playing a video game turns into a history lesson. Sure, there are titles such as Civilization and Age of Empires out there, but I would certainly never go to either of them in order to explain a moment of historical significance. I’m not going to count “edutainment” titles either, as that nickname usually refers to games that are educational, but generally not fun to play.
Enter Never Alone, the debut effort from Upper One Games. Based around indigenous Alaskan stories, the title was commissioned by the Cook Inlet Tribal Council in order to educate audiences about the Iñupiat. Rather than let their culture fall to the wayside, the Iñupiat have embraced the modern age of technology in order to tell their tale.
Starting today, Beyond Blue and Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) are free at Epic Games Store. Once you claim them, they're yours to keep.
As Never Alone brings its beautiful storytelling and immersive gameplay to Nintendo Switch, there are hints of a sequel being in development. Hell, there’s even a teaser for Never Alone 2 inside the port’s launch trailer.
The 1st game was fantastic.

1) hints? you mean the Devs telling you at the end of the trailer 2nd game is in pre production, that's not a hint ffs lol.
2) a teaser is NOT a number 2 at the end lol.
That would be awesome. I live in Alaska so it's always nice to see it talked about or shown in games.
E-Line Media and the Cook Inlet Tribal Council (CITC) announced today that the indie game Never Alone is featured in the Smithsonian Institution’s upcoming Futures Exhibition.
