No ifs or buts. On a purely objective and mechanical level, Titanfall's gameplay is impeccable, blowing the multiplayer shooter genre wide open with mobility, verticality, parkour, massive stompy robots and some of the best maps of the decade. It certainly isn't the first FPS to feature mechs and jet packs, but no game has ever managed to make these features so fluid and accessible, allowing anyone to get involved while providing veterans with a near-infinite skill ceiling as their abilities improve. As such, I've returned to it on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis simply because it's that good.
Unfortunately, however, I lied. There was an "if" and a "but," and it's a doozy, because there's no denying that Titanfall was also wicked skinny for a full-priced game."
In a simple and concise post on Twitter, head of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella responded to fan requests for a Titanfall x Helldivers 2 crossover two love heart emojis, praising the idea.
Popularized by Doom in 1993 and still making video game haters gnash their teeth today, first-person shooter games are the best thing to happen to gamers since pizza rolls. So here are 15 underrated first-person shooter games you may have missed.
Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.
Lol
All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.
XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games
I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games
Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
Yeah, played it a couple of days ago and am loving it!
I especially like being able to trade in cards on the blackmarket to get enough points to counterfit certifications that I don't want to complete in order to regen.
That and the new hoard mode where you play with 3 other players is really quite challenging.
With all of the changes that Respawn have made to TitanFall, I plan on playing this until Halo Master Chief Collection comes out.
Gen 10 here I come-- woohoo!
I'm definitely going to pick it up if there's an Origin sale. I enjoyed it a bit when it came out, but I'm not a competitive person. This new co-op mode has me excited again. Can't wait to try it!
It doesn't need another chance. It already Stole my heart.
Frontier Defense is so fun.
espawn has done an excellent job making sure that Titanfall stays updated, working and fresh with maps, modes and other features. Good job guys, the game is still as fun now as it was when I first picked I up.
I hope part 2 will be even better!
The season pass on X1 is now only £6.60, so we picked it up today because we love the new co-op mode so much. But I think it's too late, when we left the game the global count was only at around 1500. It will probably pick up when the US guys hit the evening, but not a great amount.
