Well, it's a graphical improvement lol.

MRMagoo1233905d ago

Did you see the frame drops tho wowza! it must be hitting the low teens in a lot of places, look at 9:35 onward where he is climbing the building. I cant believe they had to make it 900p and still cant even get 30fps. At 2:20 or something like that he just glitches through a window lol.

The gamersyde vid makes it look like the land of jaggies and the fps sucks.

http://www.gamersyde.com/hq...

LamerTamer3905d ago (Edited 3905d ago )

It IS the land of jaggies, AKA 900p.

This vid is from the xbone, maybe the PS4 version will be smoother at least since it is so low res.

Eonjay3905d ago (Edited 3905d ago )

Its the cinematic effect.

ReesesPuffs3905d ago

Shots fired Ubisoft lol. Regardless of the performance I'm sure it'll still be fun. The 30 fps is kinda a bummer but I'm still looking forward to it. November and December outta be sweet for every gamer regardless of platform.

starchild3905d ago (Edited 3905d ago )

This is the Xbox One version. What you guys are saying about this footage further supports the idea that just because the resolution and framerate target are the same between the PS4 and XB1 versions doesn't mean that they are the same in terms of performance and other elements of the graphics.

For example, the PS4 verison may maintain a more stable 30fps, or it might have better anti-aliasing or improvements in other areas of the graphics.

DragonKnight3905d ago

@Eonjay: I was just thinking that it's like being at the movies. Where's the popcorn? XD

R6ex3905d ago

Jarring screen tears!

Th4Freak3905d ago

I really really liked the A.I at 2:31, 2 complete strangers with swords irrupt in the house through the window and the NPCs didn't even notice them.

True next-gen A.I right there.

MrPink20133905d ago (Edited 3905d ago )

The game looks beautiful and is rendering a very large area. You can go into rooms and interact with many other characters. I think more so than even GTA V. I'm not sure we've seen a game yet on this type of scale on the new consoles. Asking for 1080p and 60 frames per second out of these systems is a pipe dream for open world games like this.

I think this is the first time we've seen the PC able to outdate the new systems this quickly. I know which platform I will be getting it on.

This looks so last gen. Not sure if it has to do with xbone, I doubt it. In terms of graphics, nothing exciting.

bigbearsack3905d ago

Looks horrible. Same animations too.

funkybudda3905d ago

This is on the "do not buy" list for me. Reduce the resolution on PS4 version for the sake of parity is a crime against PS4 gamers that shouldn't be tolerated.

cleft53905d ago

Same here and its not just PS4 gamers that should be pissed off either. The Xbox One is capable of 1080p games, look at all the crazy things happening in the new Quantum Break trailer. Ubisoft is just being lazy and screwing over ps4 and xbox one gamers. I am not going to support a company that does that so I will not buy this game.

starchild3905d ago

That's a ridiculous way to frame the issue. Every system is capable of outputting 1080p resolution and 60fps. It's always comes down to a trade off. On consoles the trade-off generally isn't worth it. You only have a limited amount of hardware performance and very often there are better things to spend it on than just resolution or trying to achieve 60fps.

So again, yes, both consoles are capable of that resolution and framerate, but to say that those things are always more important than other aspects of the game is just incredibly ignorant in my opinion.

I don't want games this generation to be crippled by this fanatical obsession with 1080p and 60fps. I want developers to be free to spend the rendering budget where they think best makes sense for their games. I see people like you as the enemies of the progress that I value in gaming.

DragonKnight3905d ago

@starchild: Would you give it up. For starters, labeling people as "the enemy" of what you personally want is just a tad melodramatic don't you think?

Secondly, the parity issue is the core of the problem, not the resolution. You and Death both have comprehension problems. No matter how many people tell you, and no matter how similarly they word it, both of you can't understand that people are upset about WHY the resolution is, now WHAT the resolution is.

So allow me to speak for everyone when I say, what you want matters to no one. So if you want to go around making enemies for yourself, perhaps you should question your own priorities and life before you start criticizing everyone.

starchild3905d ago

I'm strongly opposed to that kind of thinking, that's all I'm saying. I've seen you rail against a huge number of things so you are no one to talk.

Second of all, you must not have actually read a single one of my comments on this subject, because I've made it clear in nearly every one of them that I understand that people are upset because they believe Ubisoft purposefully gimped the PS4 version to make the two console versions the same and they believe (rightly) that the PS4 is more powerful so should have a graphically superior version. The whole crux of my comments has been to point out that people would be right to be upset IF we actually knew that the two versions were in fact equal, but we don't know any such thing and most of the evidence points to the fact that likely won't be the case.

So stop with the straw man arguments. I know full well what some of you are complaining about, I simply don't agree with the reasoning behind it. You're the one that hasn't comprehended what I have said, not the other way around.

Oh, and let me speak on behalf of everyone, nobody cares what you think or say about anything either.

MeliMel3905d ago

@starchild, great comment. Bubble for well said.

DragonKnight3905d ago

@starchild: Yes, you have seen me rail against many subjects, it's called having an opinion. There are 2 differences between you and I.

The first is I don't go around calling people my enemy because they don't share my opinion, only to later try to backpeddle and say "oh I'm just opposed to their thinking" which is basically saying the same thing. I don't turn into a politician that rewords things to seem less of an attack or overly dramatic. I say what I mean and I mean what I say.

The second is that, unlike you, I know my opinion matters only to me. I don't pretend like it matters to anyone but me, something that you've yet to learn.

You've been in every AC Unity article trying to deny or downplay the parity reason Ubisoft used, trying desperately to get people to believe that there are other ways in which the games will not be equal. You ignore everyone, and their opinions, to parrot your own as though it is either fact, or foolish to disagree with what you consider your own opinion to be. That being supposedly moderate, yet obviously not.

Here is what we know about AC Unity based on what was said. The PS4 version had its resolution gimped to be equal to the Xbox One version. Talking about other areas of the game is pointless because that's not what Ubisoft spoke of themselves. So trying to deflect focus away from being rightly upset that Ubisoft is purposely gimping an aspect of PS4's version of AC Unity for parity, to "well you know the lighting might be better on the PS4" is laughably absurd, and completely irrelevant.

That kind of deflection, that attempt to evade the topic so others focus on something else, is as sleazy a move as any publisher or politician could make.

So allow me to continue to speak, if I may (and if they don't want me to they can say so), on behalf of everyone who is upset about this parity issue and say take your deflections, evasions, and attempt to shift focus off of what we are upset about and go away. You've no right to tell us what we should or should not be upset about, and your opinion remember is only important to you.

The parkour animations are really well done this time around. You can see him stumble sometimes and try to regain his balance which adds a level of realism to it.

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

Why Assassin’s Creed Unity remains one of the best games in the series

GF365: "Since the first Assassin’s Creed game, there have been entries up until now. There are more than a few titles that are far from an ideal stealth game. Let’s discuss why 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is one of the best games in the series."

Glitchy as hell and flat story, nah this aint it. AC2, brotherhood and 4 were amazing games in every respective

Furesis942d ago

Yeah i would say brotherhood and 4 were the best for me. I have not played the new ones and Unity was my last one. Seems like i made a good choice.

DarXyde942d ago

I gave up after Revelations. Just couldn't bring myself to care anymore and I got burned out of the gameplay.

Definitely agree on 2 and Brotherhood though. Great games.

YourMommySpoils942d ago

A Ubisoft AC game that's not glitchy? That will be the day.

Knightofelemia942d ago

After constant glitches Arno being boring nah I am good I skipped Unity. I will always like the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, Rogue, Odyssey, Syndicate. I use to love the franchise but now it feels stale and boring. But my list of favorite entries into the franchise will vary from other players favorite entries.

RaidenBlack942d ago

Odyssey is a really well-made RPG game ... but it ain't a proper AC game, even though its part of the lore

ToddlerBrain942d ago

It’s funny because, at launch, it was universally panned for being unplayable. It’s a great game that holds up today. I’m glad they fixed it.

staticall942d ago

The only good things i remember from Unity are pretty graphics and really good descending mechanics (even though it sometimes didn't make much sense, when your character can drop down from like 10 meter height onto a flagpole perfectly).

Game is glitchy to this day, i was playing in it years after the release date (with all the DLCs) and it's still broken. You had to reload missions too often for my taste (characters do not spawn, you fall through the floor, getting stuck in falling/sitting/aiming animation, hidden blade stop working, assassination target running away at the start of the mission). Story was meh, searching for all the treasures wasn't enjoyable at all. Coop was pretty much useless, i've beaten every coop mission in solo. Helix rifts were awful as well.

Not saying i hate this game or anything, but it got too many problems.

Assassin's Creed (i know it's a controversial opinion) and Assassin's Creed 2 are still great to this day.

anast942d ago

Unity was okay. I prefer Syndicate and Origins.
