PixlBit | "Even though the transition into the newest generation of gaming consoles has been a gradual, whimpering affair so far, it’s pretty clear that the previous generation is wrapping up its final encore. To look back at how the PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS thrilled us for years, PixlBit brings you our Game of the Generation series. Our staff has picked their personal favorite, most influential, most impactful games to highlight as we bid adieu to what was.

As The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered takes up 125GB, original designer Bruce Nesmith recalls fitting Skyrim into a tiny file size.
Skyrim is still my favorite ES game. I’m playing through it again right now since I never finished it.
That judicious lack of oversight permeated everything in Bethesda's RPGs, in a positive fashion.
I much prefer a left alone Obsidian and Larian Studios. Bethesda's formula has grown old for me.
Skyrim blew my mind when it released. That game took me to the gaming, promisedland. Going back to it when it was updated for the PS5, it felt slightly rough around the edges, but great for its time
We should leave Obsidian alone. Bethesda on the other hand should be kept under constant psychiatric observation.
Big Bethesda Nintendo Switch eShop sale now live with lowest prices ever for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Doom (2016), and more.
I respect the opinion, but Skyrim wasn't even my Game of the Year that year, and I'd say Oblivion was a better game. My Game of the Generation was Demon's Souls and the year Skyrim came out Dark Souls was my Game of the Year. Just my opinions.
i really loved Skyrim
it's the definition of western RPG
and the open world is massive
i still haven't after multiple playthroughs
finished all of the quests or visited all of the areas
I disagree
The story and characters are boring and don't develop, the combat system is floaty and unsatisfying, the dungeons are very repetitive and linear
It's a decent game, but it's definitely not without its flaws, and doesn't deserve GOTY, let alone GOTG.
