Now that's great news, def. getting my Wii-U this holiday season if the PS4 holiday library don't kill may gaming account. smh

NatureOfLogic_3991d ago (Edited 3991d ago )

How exactly is parity or lack of taking advantage of the more powerful hardware good news? WiiU shouldn't even be close.

R00bot3991d ago (Edited 3991d ago )

They never said it would be close, just closer than the PS3.

Any fully optimised game on the Wii U can get close to the PS4, it doesn't mean they're not taking advantage of the PS4, simply that they ARE taking advantage of the Wii U, unlike many developers.

C-H-E-F3991d ago

@R00bot, exactly what I was saying after reading the article. @ArgumentumAdPopulum needs to learn comprehension of articles before commenting on stuff. This is great news for the Wii-U, shows devs willing to squeeze out the most of the system making it in between ps3 and ps4 and that's great because most games that's out now on the ps4 and xbox one are between the ps3 and ps4.

vishmarx3991d ago (Edited 3991d ago )

oh the irony,
heres an extract describing the ps3 version from the ign review
"PlayStation 3 Version
Couldn't really spot any differences between the PS3 and the PS4 version. It looks and controls the same as its big brother."

lol.
but sure lets just play along the pr,
wii u is high and mighty.hope you realize this game is an indie and while its beautiful its nothing that would need juice to run, devs could run it on smartphones with little trouble if they were willing.the positive is wii u is getting a good game from a 3rd party dev ,but lets not brag about graphics and bring up a legitimate reason for an argument

and now for the disagrees

STRYFEE3991d ago

just means that they never took advantage of the PS4 code base. probably just ported the game from PC to PS4 with out doing much work. they had to optimize the game on wiiu to match it close to PS4. thats all.

DoctorJones3991d ago

I've got The Swapper on my pc, it's a great game but it's not the best looking of games and it's not intensive either. It looks great for what it is.

Now, should I get all upset if the ps4 version looks the same as on my pc, which is more powerful than a ps4? Should I start crying about parity and how the pc version should look much better than the ps4 version, and that they haven't took advantage of my powerful hardware?

No. It's a great game and I don't really care if it looks the same because it's not a graphical showcase of power in the first place.

I hope everyone enjoys playing it on their systems, because it deserves to be played.

Regardless of 'parity'.

Magicite3991d ago

No offence, but this games specs dont demand significantly powerful hardware.

randomass1713990d ago

That's not a great argument if the PS4, PC and Wii U versions are doing things that the PS3 version cannot. The evidence is out there now because the developer said the PS3 cannot do some things they wanted for this game.

frezhblunts3991d ago

Lol you can see people act so immature over the wii u, the dev is talking about how its closer to ps4 and people are finding excuses why, how about it is a great console and even though it is weaker than the ps4, it is keeping up, has potential and has a great line-up. Owner of a ps4 and wii u

WilliamUsher3991d ago

Why are there so many people angry that devs are finally utilizing the Wii U's hardware? It was never close to the PS3/360, it just doesn't have traditional architecture reliant on the CPU.

More than anything, everyone should be happy that the Wii U is finally being properly utilized and optimized the way it should be. It's good news for third-party games coming down the pipeline.

SonyPS43991d ago

People will complain about everything. If there's no third party games for Wii U, people will complain about that. If there's a reasonable third party game on Wii U, the same people will complain about that as well.

randomass1713990d ago

People hate console parity because they automatically assume that the strongest hardware is being gimped for the rest when the devs are just making the best of all hardware for their vision.

Gemmol3991d ago

hmmmm, this made me scratch my chin

KaladinStormblessed3991d ago

So when developers say a game is closer to ps/360 the wii u is a "weak console" and "can barely compete with ps/360" but when they say it's closer to ps4 it's "of course it is, it should be better than 10 year old hardware..." Can't anyone just be happy that a developer is actually trying to make te wii u version good?

If you're sane enough, check out the comments in this article. It totally fits with what you just said.

EZMickey3991d ago

People are debating this and I'm just like... The game's graphics are not resource intensive at all. Not at all. That there's a visual difference between the PS3 and PS4 versions already surprises me.

lilbroRx3991d ago

False. "Shading" takes a lot of more resources than people are aware of. The aspect that the devs were talking about is the shading system which this game is dependent on, not the textures or anything which most people obsess over.

From what I understand, the PS3 could not handle the lighting system they used on the PC and still hit 60 FPS. The Wii U can.

EZMickey3990d ago

That was really insightful man, thanks.
