Hardcore Gamer: It seems that Sekai Project has been on fire lately getting both well-known and indie visual novels onto the Steam storefront. Today they announced that they've partnered with developer Lupiesoft.
The creators of visual novels and other games at risk of removal from Steam are already finding other homes for them amid confusion and censorship arguments.
Valve take the side of SJW, feminist, moral f@gs in our "free" Western society who are responsible that censoring is completely out of control in NA/EU gaming market, what's the meaning of ESRB & PEGI then when a game that get an AO/18+ rating must be censored first until it gets a T rating before Steam & consoles allow for it to get published? where is the freedom in that? I repeat what's the meaning of a rating in games? isn't that suppose to exist in order for parents to know what games is suitable for their kids? so adult games is forbidden because a kid might purchase an AO game illegally? isn't that the same with adult movies? isn't that the same with adult magazines? kids can get those illegally also but they exist, so why we can't have games for adults? is games suppose to be just for little kids? do anyone understand how f*cking stupid this sound it doesn't make any sense, in what world we live in, why an "adult" can't be free to play a game for adults & everything must be censored because some hypocritical moralist feminist scumbag in some high place said so, when the game industry is going to move forward & acknowledge that there is millions of adult gamers out there & those people have rights also & one of them is to enjoy uncensored adult games, why is that so hard to understand, does that sound illogical to any of you? I would really like to know...
Good. GOG deserves a win and they are probably grateful.
“I believe that many censorship decisions are simply made because of the whims of payment processors not wanting to accept such transactions. I see no reason why Steam couldn’t have an adult section that takes credit card only. Websites like eBay already have adult sections… but with family sharing, and Steam's most likely outdated system, implementing all of this would be a huge hassle, so I feel they made the decision to simply self-regulate and self-censor,"
Makes the most sense to me. I saw the Chief of gameinformer trash his site by complaining about the old technology. Game informer is launching its new site on Tuesday and he was excited.
Is there a steam alternative where they don't treat all their customers as children??
I mean, of course it's too difficult for Steam to just ask for age verification. Oh wait....
Steam's bullsh*t in recent months really makes me want to jump ship to a new PC gaming platform. SJC appeasement has got way out of hand.
LewdGamer reviews the science fiction yuri adventure visual novel The Stargazers by independent developer Lupiesoft and published by MangaGamer.
Marcus Estrada writes: "Sekai Project has taken the extremely unique stance of regularly crowdfunding for titles. If you know about visual novel localization then you’re aware it is a very expensive process. You’ve got to not only translate, but carefully localize every game to make sure the writing is top notch. Of course then there’s the hefty fees of paying for famous voice actor performances where required. With that said, so far it looks like Sekai Project is the only visual novel publisher sourcing their fees through Kickstarter."
Interesting project.
@Vlad
Makes visual novel games I suppose!
