Sekai Project has announced an ambitious Kickstarter project to bring all three games of the Grisaia Trilogy to the West.
Marcus Estrada writes: "Sekai Project has taken the extremely unique stance of regularly crowdfunding for titles. If you know about visual novel localization then you’re aware it is a very expensive process. You’ve got to not only translate, but carefully localize every game to make sure the writing is top notch. Of course then there’s the hefty fees of paying for famous voice actor performances where required. With that said, so far it looks like Sekai Project is the only visual novel publisher sourcing their fees through Kickstarter."
Prototype have released the official opening movie for the upcoming new version of Grisaia no Rakuen: Le Eden De La Grisaia.
Siliconera caught up with Sekai Project CEO, Raymond Qian, to ask a few quick questions about the company and how they’ve been able to rise through the ranks of visual novel publishers.
I heard about the Sekai Project a couple of days ago. Hopefully, I can land an interview with them one day.
Wow, I never thought that they would try and bring the whole trilogy over. Hopefully with the anime airing now to raise awareness they will be able to bring all three of them over. Glad to see that they are also going to aim for the mature versions as well rather than just the all-ages ones.
I love videogames with Anime style. I will definitely support this project.
Didn't they already say they were going to release Grisaia no Kajitsu? Why is it on Kickstarter now?
Woohoo lets all aim for that Vita stretch goal!
