The Last Of Us Remastered will release with awesome/advanced completely different audio options.
This game just keeps getting better and better:)

I don't even care. I just want to play the damn game already!
i care, as someone who has just got a 7.1 surround sound! also I noticed it said "controller" so will be interesting to see how they utilise the controllers speaker,
It will be used for the audio logs and the flash light 'click'
Hell yeah! I'm using Sony STR DN 1050 receiver with quad Polk Monitor 70s series, dual Polk monitor 40s, Polk Tsx 150 center channel, and BIC F12 475 watt sub to complete my 7.1 setup. I might add another sub but living in my expensive ass apartment I get neighbors complaining with just one.
I cannot wait to play this again in all its PS4 glory. Was already beautiful on PS3. Such a compelling and engrossing story. One of my all time favorite games. Updated audio options should sound great on my XP500's. Already pre ordered and paid for. Absolutely love owning all three "current gen" systems and playing what I want.
Hopefully this game really takes advantage of the Sony Gold wireless headphones i just bought with a possible downloadable sound pre set like Watch Dogs & Infamous second son did And FYI for anyone looking for a great headset for there PS4 I'd highly recommend the Gold Wireless headphones there incredible & Newegg is actually selling them for $69.99 right now. http://www.newegg.com/Produ...
I know it's off topic but have to totally agree. Just bought a set myself (especially for destiny beta) and for the price, they perform exceptionaly well! They are by no means a "high end" head set. But they are a very good budget headset.
Agreed, I love the Sony Gold headset. It's produces amazing sound quality, virtual surround sound is epic, the noise canceling mic and let's not forget, they're really comfortable too.
ya the mic seems to do a good job blocking everything but you out. They also sound great and i like the presets app too.
I have the old Sony wireless headset. While they do not look as nice as the gold, I wonder if the sound competes with the new ones. Any know If the sound is worth the upgrade?
Which one's exactly? The Pulse? or The Pulse Elite?
Original wireless. I think it was before pulse. It seems to work fine but I am wondering if the new gold is worth the upgrade.
Then I'd highly recommend upgrading to the Golds there comfortable, Lightweight, have a ton of great features with virtual 7.1 surround sound, Has a app on the PSN store to upload pre sets or make your own & have a built in hidden mic And can also be used with the Vita, PS3, Android & of course PC all in all there absolutely great headphones and are totally worth the $100 but like I said earlier Newegg has them for $69 with free shipping which is a absolute STEAL!!! but hope this bit of info helped.
OT. The soundscape was one of the highlights of the original. Had several "brown pants" moments playing late at night with the sound turned up. Glad to hear they've stepped up the sound quality to match the upgraded visuals. Cannot wait to experience this amazing game all over again. An absolute masterpiece of visual entertainment!
Uncharted 2 tricked me into pausing my game and answering the door. But no one was there, as the sound was someone knocking on a door in a cut scene in the game. I also found myself looking at an open window when a bird was flying overhead in Uncharted.
I don't have $100+ headphones, but the normal earphones I use work just fine. I was able to hear everything with it when I was playing the Destiny beta yesterday. The fact that it even works as a mic is even better. Will work wonders when me and my friend play Factions Mode in TLOUR.
Jesus, you the know the hype is real when a "advanced audio" article for the Last of Us is high up.
Most people don't give audio nearly the amount of respect it deserves. Apparently you're one of them. It's a very big deal to me. The lion's share of investment of my home theater setup went into my speakers and receiver. Considerably more than my gaming rig, consoles, or TV. The audio of Naughty Dog's games through a high end home theater setup is incredible. Every ND game has incredible audio, so if this is a step above that, it will be quite an experience.
As a person who plays professionally, audio is important since I need to hear everything and in my experience, a headset is better an speakers since the sound is right next to your ear. I could care less about a "home theater" setup, as long as I can hear footsteps and what direction sounds are coming from, I'm good.
"...a headset is better an speakers since the sound is right next to your ear..." This is absolutely false. A headset cannot compare to the quality and depth of a home theater setup. Headsets are better than they used to be in simulating effects of a home theater setup, but they are not better at simulating than the real thing.
All PS4 games should have 7.1 surround or Dolby Atmos as a standard! I wish they used the Center channel speaker more then just voices! That pissed me off about GTA V because nothing but dialogue comes out and it's basically 4.1 surround? WTF? That was a big letdown plus the audio sounded low res and compressed! Again, WTF? Current PS4 games are getting it right like Infamous Second Son/Killzone Shadow Fall! I believe its object based audio? Got to give it to them for having really good sound design. Hope more Next-gen games support Object based audio and 8-11 channel out-put!
Dedicating the center channel for voice does have the advantage of the dialogue being less likely to be lost in the other sounds, particularly in a "busy" action game or shooter.
Still waiting for all these next gen games to have next gen HD audio and better mixing.
Wow. A fifty dollar year old port gets another article.
Wow. And it is only twenty dollars? Wait, what! I was playing a Beta for the past few days... they are putting out a year old game MINUS all the DLC for fifty dollars?
