20 Sides of Nerd Podcast - Robot Entertainment Justin Korthof interview

On this week’s episode of 20 Sides of Nerd, Emdee and Draeno welcome Justin Korthof (SixOkay) of Robot Entertainment for a return visit to the show. As Justin is the community manager for the company, the team spends some time talking about Robot’s next iteration of the Orcs Must Die! series, Orcs Must Die! Unchained. The team talks about some of the differences in the game from the previous ones, including some multiplayer mayhem. Afterward, the Aereo Supreme Court decision is debated before moving into the area of comics.

Getting into some passionate territory, the future of the DC Universe is talked about, including Batman vs. Superman, Fox’s Gotham, the New 52 comics, the future of films with Warner Brothers and how a fan could see them going. It wouldn’t be a comic’s discussion if they didn’t talk about the effect on digital comics the change in Comixology’s ownership will have. Make sure to check out SixOkay’s post on “Man of Steel isn’t about Superman” for some reference.

DC Video Games Should Stick to Being Elseworlds Properties

With the announcement that DC video games will be connected to the TV, movie universes, here's an argument on why they should be Elseworlds.

Vengeance1138845d ago

The only argument you need is the fact that being connected to the movies and TV severely limits whats possible in the games / creative freedom to do whatever with the world and story lines so long as it sticks to source material and makes sense for the characters.

jbull844d ago

Better if they are separate as it allows more creative freedom for developers. For example a Justice League would be severely hampered if it had to be linked to the movies as developers couldn't use the villains they want.

It’s the new K.I.S.S. principle. Keep It Separate Stupid.

The beginning of EAs Superman Returns was a good little side story that should have been explored more. Having to compete on War World was a great game level and could be expanded on even further.

As I have said before, there's zero reason why we can't have a good Superman game. Superman 64 proved this.

I feel like Gunn is prioritizing Superman this go-around. A game would make sense. Now more than ever.
