I wouldn't be surprised if this or the next update see's the rumored res boost. When Bungie said they'd be using the extra GPU to make Destiny 1080p, one of the first re-tweets was from Titanfall Twitter account....just speculation, but there has been rumors and talk of this happening, and how with the extra 10% it seems a little more likely.

This game still hasn't received the performance patch they promised months ago. I would rather they use the extra 10% power from the Kinect on the performance of the game before even thinking of boosting the res. The framerate drops and screen tearing are more of an issue than the res of the game (which isn't really an issue at all, imo).

This game can dip as low as the 20's on the X1, and has a hard time keeping anywhere near 60fps when **** hits the fan, seriously, the last thing anyone should be talking about or wishing for, dev or gamer, is upping the res. Upping the res would only make the framerate worse, who the hell would actually want that? I'll take a smoother gameplay experience any day, especially on a competitive multiplayer FPS.

Respawn said themselves that "Framerate is king". They should deliver on that.

The resolution looked better after the last SDK, and update for Titanfall. Lot of x box fans commented on better textures or something. It did look different to me after i got the last patch update, oddly enough.

Frame rate drops rarely happen Lukas, its only happens, when lots of titans are battling it out. The frame rate is grand for most of the matches.

The devs did dsay they would look into upping the resolution, with more GPU power is available to them, and when they get new SDK'S

@KNWS

"Frame rate drops rarely happen Lukas, its only happens, when lots of titans are battling it out. The frame rate is grand for most of the matches."

Cmon man....how are you gonna sit there are lie to me about a game i own and have over a days worth of play time on (i know that's not a lot, but it's enough for me to know what im talking about). Frame drops are not a rare occurrence, at all, stop lying. https://www.youtube.com/wat... Framerate dips into the 40's and 30's during pilot gameplay is a common occurrence.

"The devs did dsay they would look into upping the resolution, with more GPU power is available to them, and when they get new SDK'S"

True, but they originally said "framerate is king", those are their exact words. They should stick to that. Look on the Titanfall forums, no one complains about the res because no one cares about it...but you do see people complaining about the screen tearing and framerate drops.

Honestly, the defence force for this game is laughable. This is the game X1 fans said "gameplay >> graphics" about, but now people want a res bump, which will negatively impact the already less-than-stellar framerate of the game.....seriously? Hell, i'd take a DECREASE of resolution if it meant even slightly better framerate. It's ok to love/like a game whilst also being able to criticise it, there's no need to be so defensive.

But i guess people just don't want to hear anything about this game, other than praise. Sorry, but this game has framerate and screen tearing issues, that have been there since launch, they should be the main focus of Respawn.

Agreed, at least some one has the same sentiments about titanfall as me.
Its crazy on the titanfall forums how the xbox defence force keep saying its peoples tv which causes the screen tearing! LMAO
Some even deny tearing is occurring!

Why on gods earth would people want a higher resolution when the X1 cant even cope with the game as is? i think it would be better to drop to native 720p and with a locked 60fps with a hard lock of vsync to eliminate tearing for good! just as i said above in my comment, its insane how people are defending this poorly optimised rushed game!!

Fireseed4029d ago

Unlikely. While I think it could happen, Destiny is a game in full development and if they increase the res on their nightly builds what do they care if they crash it or it hinders performance? They can just tweak it. But Tianfall is an already released game so a change like that would have to go through EXTENSIVE testing to make sure it doesn't cause instability. If they were to do that it may take a couple months or so till we see it implemented.

LonDonE4029d ago (Edited 4029d ago )

THATS A COMPLETE AND UTTER FAIL!!!
if they use that extra power to just up the resolution then the game will play even worse then it is now!!
It has constant frame rate drops from 60fps to 35fps and everything between! and not to mention the near constant screen tearing! the game is FUGLY!!

I LOVE THE GAME, but i swear the constant screen tearing whenever i pan the camera left and right is distracting as hell! and no point in the blind ass xbots to deny it, the digital foundry video and article about titanfalls performance EXPOSES IT!!

And it has nothing to do with peoples tv's, its because of the adaptive vsync which doesnt work most of the time!
so upping the resolution even more would only make the game worse and it would make the X1 struggle much more then now, why cant they drop the resolution to native 720p and lock the frame rate to 60fps with vsync hard locked? that for sure make the game so much more pretty to look at and would make it perform much better too.

It drives me nuts the tearing does, seriously respawn should be ashamed of themselves along with ea.
This was respawns first game after leaving activision and was supposed to show everyone how technically awesome they were as a studio but instead its a mess even on pc.
The HUGE UNCOMPRESSED audio file is A JOKE!!

It would be great if they finally finished the game and put out a update which is optimised for the pc and X1 and which resulted in a solid 60fps with no tearing! one can dream as they say!! LMAO

I'm disappointed with only new 2 game modes. You'd think with the type of game it is the options would be endless. They really need more modes to breath new life into the game.

incendy354029d ago

I always end up playing Attrition haha, but that new "you're it" mode does sound fun.

this game is so dead and boring nowadays if only they would put team death match in as a new mode 6v 6 or 9 v 9 get rid of the shitty titans more would love it.

This update sounds fun! Especially the "you're it" mode, should be intense.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1018d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1018d ago (Edited 1018d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
