Evan Tognotti writes: "Here is a simple fact about hacking: it’s not fun to watch. Movies and video games world over would like to convince you that this isn’t true, but the tedium prevails. Any writer on earth can make a character type something furiously into a keyboard and have something unexpected happen on the other end — but that’s not really the allure of hacking, is it?"
If you are looking for a bargain, check out the huge discounts across the entire WatchDogs series on Steam.
With the world of information and technology, privacy and security growing every day, Watch Dogs deserves another chance in the spotlight, now more than ever.
The only Ubi title that deserves a faithful remake right now is Splinter Cell 1.
All 2014+ Ubi titles are just underwhelming. Especially ones from 2016+ are just cancer.
The fist watchdog game was the best by far
After that they weren't weird and annoying with that hipster stuff. Aiden was a badass.
From VG247: "When cars slide, they leave tyre marks. In a game like Driver, they’re an aesthetic touch, part of the inherent cool of a handbrake turn. But those dark shadows in the road also tell a story. From tyre marks, you can determine the speed of a vehicle, when it started to skid, and its ultimate direction of travel – long after the car itself has vanished into the distance."
Why did they stop making some of the best games ever? Driver was one of them.
A story driven game with pure driving gameplay. I'd love to see a new Driver game or a remake of the first one.
I'd give this score a 1/5.
Yeah, the author just strung together a bunch of large words to sound intelligent... I don't agree with almost every criticism in his review.
"This sort of dissonance is common for an ambitious open-world game, but Watch Dogs is clumsy in a specific way I’ve never seen before. Other games might struggle between player agency and static character work — would John Marston really shoot up this town for the hell of it, like I made him? Here’s the difference: you could play Watch Dogs like a relative saint and it still wouldn’t make any goddamned sense. Presented as a series of non-interactive cutscenes, this game somehow achieves ludonarrative dissonance. That is a unique and staggering honor."
... ummmm.... what? Is this guy seriously giving WD a 2/5 because the character is too far removed from the source material/story line? It's a game dude, chill out, you're trying to craft a psychoanalytical thesis on a game. He sounds like a movie critic that was kicked out of the theater and forced to write game reviews.
That 2/5 seemed extreme. But, hey, you got my click, so I suppose it worked.
I feel bad for ubisoft that the "cool" thing on the internet right now is to bash on Watch dogs, and that doesn't exclude journalists.
They really took their time and created a brand new experience that is so polished and so unique, It is an excellent game on PS4.
