I turn off Adblock on most sites. However, on N4G, the ads attack you. They're coming to your house, lol. I particularly hate with great intensity the ads that play in the background yet can't be seen. Drives me cRRRRAAZzzy. Then I turn on Adblock.

What do you do?

I can't bring myself to watch the same ad over and over again. I don't like ads. That is just me. But it is the shameless data collection without your express permission that inspired me to run AdBlock. After running it for a week, it had block nearly 10k ads, most of which aren't ads, but tracking sites.

"I can't bring myself to watch the same ad over and over again." Lol, you and me both. I die a little inside watching it over and over again. However, like Patcher said, I just walk away and come back when I'm at home. I can't do that on my iPhone though.

I purposely give out as much data on myself, even on Social Media, as acceptable because privacy is dead, in my opinion, as long as I'm on the internet and I love the information the internet delivers.

Don't mind banner ads, but popups and autoplay ads are so annoying. Lol scumbags.

I am a scum-bag then. I get your point Pachter and you are right I just hate ads being in your face (background audio ads are the worse though). I would much rather prefer subscribing to things if it means no ads and I get good content. I do that with Matt Lees and I do that (although compulsory) with the BBC (though I would pay for it if it was optional). The thing I notice about ad revenue content is the content isn't always that good (Gametrailers is fairly hit and miss: actually I don't go there since they got rid of invisible walls and instead went for some unsteady camera style show which is fairly poor). By having subscribers the content makes have to be good all the time.

Edit: like Eonjay said watching the same add over and over again (something that is a problem with websites and not tv channels) gets incredibly frustrating and boring.

Agreed with everything you wrote. Nevertheless, whom or what company would you pay a small subscription fee too? I can't think of any because I rather watch ads than pay money.

Surprisingly, I agree with him (for once) on everything relating to Unreal 4 and especially Adblock. Those ads are part of a revenue system that is keeping small businesses and other industries going...

I'm with everyone ...Adds suck!!! but that doesn't mean i run a addblock...I don't mind the advertising when i know it pays for the content i'm watching off the websites i frequent...

I find that most people who cant stand adds are the younger generation ( i'm 30 and don't consider myself old) kids now a day have it way too f-ing easy and they're too stupid to realize it...When i grew up i didn't have the privilege of PVR,Internet(really came main stream when i was in high school),Smartphones( when i was 16 i bought my first cellphone ,that's when it started getting affordable to the masses)instant movie streaming sites( Netflix etc...I try to explain to my two little girls that Netflix wasn't around when i grew up...if you wanted cartoons, you got up early in the morning and watched some and after 10am it was crap TV...You didn't have the luxury of instant streaming all the cartoons you wanted)instant music (It used to be cassettes and CDs and if you had cash in high-school, the first generation of ipods. Now there is a good 20 unlimited streaming sites for your music needs...i personally pay for unlimited)

The younger generation doesn't know how it felt to not know something and have that thing linger in your head for hours to days till you finally figured it out. Now you just Google it and your done.. Back in high-school having access to Google and today's smartphones would've made school a breeze..."cant figure this out" Google it!!! The younger generation are so used to all these crutches that they cant even stand watching a 30 sec adds because their time is soooo precious..."why would i watch adds? i don't even buy those products...Well maybe your mom will? "hey mom!!! buy some dove soap so i can be all silky smooth!!! If you addblock you're now stuck with generic brand soap that makes you smell like a dirty subway stop hooker...Adds are a part of life. They're created to get the word out and educate us on products we might want or find use for in the future...I'm not putting every young person in the same boat but...We all know this new generation is going down the crapper...We have tools (internet,smartphones, tablets, laptops etc) now that are helpful for so many reasons, We shouldn't turn them all into crutches, be great full for what we have and watch a stupid 30 sec add once in a while.

To everyone that has those stupid adds that pop up on n4g and you don't know where the sound comes from...Since i installed a antivirus software (norton, metcalfe)they've went away...Plus you get those for free with most internet providers...We just never bother installing them (since we say they slow down are PC but brag about having 32 gigs of ram lol!)...I finally decided to install it and the spam was gone and now i have your classic adds which i don't mind...

Sorry for the rant..lol!
