I turn off Adblock on most sites. However, on N4G, the ads attack you. They're coming to your house, lol. I particularly hate with great intensity the ads that play in the background yet can't be seen. Drives me cRRRRAAZzzy. Then I turn on Adblock.

What do you do?

Eonjay4048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

I can't bring myself to watch the same ad over and over again. I don't like ads. That is just me. But it is the shameless data collection without your express permission that inspired me to run AdBlock. After running it for a week, it had block nearly 10k ads, most of which aren't ads, but tracking sites.

AKissFromDaddy4048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

"I can't bring myself to watch the same ad over and over again." Lol, you and me both. I die a little inside watching it over and over again. However, like Patcher said, I just walk away and come back when I'm at home. I can't do that on my iPhone though.

"But it is the shameless data collection without your express permission that inspired me to run AdBlock." I gave up that fight, lol. I purposely give out as much data on myself, even on Social Media, as acceptable because privacy is dead, in my opinion, as long as I'm on the internet and I love the information the internet delivers.

"After running it for a week, it had block nearly 10k ads, most of which aren't ads, but tracking sites." That's cool. How do you check that?

gaffyh4047d ago

Don't mind banner ads, but popups and autoplay ads are so annoying. Lol scumbags.

ajax174047d ago

Yeah, I have to agree. Sorry Newsboiler, these ads are terrible.

iamnsuperman4048d ago (Edited 4048d ago )

I am a scum-bag then. I get your point Pachter and you are right I just hate ads being in your face (background audio ads are the worse though). I would much rather prefer subscribing to things if it means no ads and I get good content. I do that with Matt Lees and I do that (although compulsory) with the BBC (though I would pay for it if it was optional). The thing I notice about ad revenue content is the content isn't always that good (Gametrailers is fairly hit and miss: actually I don't go there since they got rid of invisible walls and instead went for some unsteady camera style show which is fairly poor). By having subscribers the content makes have to be good all the time.

Edit: like Eonjay said watching the same add over and over again (something that is a problem with websites and not tv channels) gets incredibly frustrating and boring.

AKissFromDaddy4048d ago

Agreed with everything you wrote. Nevertheless, whom or what company would you pay a small subscription fee too? I can't think of any because I rather watch ads than pay money.

"watching the same add over and over again (something that is a problem with websites and not tv channels) gets incredibly frustrating and boring." Agreed. Additionally, the ads suck. They're seriously not even meant for me. Just to check, there's UPS and Gatorade Ad and I think,"Why?"

Pachter is scared of Jim Sterling, confirmed.

modesign4047d ago

lol that loser must not watch tv since he probably cant stand teh commercials.

CerealKiller4047d ago

I never use Adblock. I should use it for this site because the ads always freeze up my browser.

Wow! That is badass. WB needs to make this happen now.

Right? Thanks for checking it out!

Fans??? This is done by one person

WoodsRatesGames1502d ago

Someone else was commissioned to do the music and another person modelled the batmobile. Links to all involved are included in the article.

Gaming4Life19811502d ago

They should have been made a batman game for the best batman movie. This looks amazing and now I must watch the movie.

Am I crazy or is there an Unreal Engine 5 now? Why promote old tech?

waverider1523d ago

I really dont understand either? isnt the Unreal Engine 5 already available for studios? arent they already working with it?

masterfox1523d ago

UE5 Is for PS5 only, deal with it! :D

***runs away from this thread with pride!**

Tacoboto1523d ago

UE5 is not released yet and developers for years will still make UE4 games because that's where their tools and customizations are.

Mortal Kombat still uses UE3. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is also still UE3.

Magog1522d ago

That more of an embarrassing indictment of those devs than a reason to promote old software.

Tacoboto1522d ago

Embarrassing indictment? You know nothing of software development then.

Spenok1522d ago (Edited 1522d ago )

Because a ridiculous amount of the industry still uses 4, and because no, 5 is not out yet. They said it would launch later this year.

AuraAbjure1522d ago

Companies still use Unreal Engine 3.

Really impressive tech but I don’t even notice all of these benefits in real life, never mind being chased by zombies in a video game. Rather devote resources to resolution and frame rate.

Magog1522d ago

If you suddenly stopped casting reflections in a mirror I think you would notice.

Amplitude1522d ago (Edited 1522d ago )

Edit: i misread this.
N4G really needs a delete comment button lol

Einhander19711521d ago

Yes after seeing the Unreal 5 ps5 reveal, I thought that's where we were heading. But saying that I have read various articles that suggest its easy for developers to still work on Unreal 4 and carry everything over to Unreal 5 when needed, we shall see.
