Despite being flat out with the impending release of the latest Battlefield title, Karl-Magnus Troedsson, Senior Producer for Battlefield: Bad Company, took some time out to answer some questions for Gameplanet.
Troedsson: "Battlefield: Bad Company is the first game in the series to include a true story and character driven single-player campaign. Since this is a first for us here at DICE we've of course spent quite some time on this. However, a Battlefield game wouldn't be a Battlefield game unless the multiplayer was spot on. So we've more or less had two large groups of developers working in parallel, one for the offline campaign and one for the online experience. The result is a solid offering with the best of both worlds."
With the franchise’s mainline entries failing to find their footing in recent years, now is the perfect time for a Battlefield: Bad Company remake.
Of course there is no counter argument. This is what fans of the franchise have wanted for years. This and/or BF Bad Company 2.
When asked why there hasn't been another Bad Company:
“There's one thing that lingers with Bad Company that we've been asking ourselves: What is it that the people really liked about Bad Company?" DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson told Eurogamer.
Troedsson says that he and his team can’t put their fingers on what it is that people loved about that branch of the brand. “It's hard for people to articulate what that is, which is actually hard for us,” he says. “It would be hard to remake something like that. Can we do it? Of course. We have our theories when it comes to the multiplayer."

EA: "As we close in on 15 years since the release of Battlefield 1943, and Bad Company™ 1 & 2, we are announcing that their journey is coming to an end."
This reminds me... I have ME on my PS3 hdd. Never really played it, but it was free.
On PC I don't think it's much of a problem but I'm sad to see BF43 being shut down. I haven't played it in a while since it's stuck on PS3, but i preferred it way more over BF3. It was the lack of invisible barriers which made it better for me.
Does anyone play the last BF anymore? I searched crossplay servers and it was 20 people the most on all the servers? Can never find a game
With this multiplayer experiment going every way but right, it's time for Battlefield to return to what made it so great - a fun single player mode coupled with classic multiplayer.
BF is dead especially after this abysmal release.. what have EA done to this beloved franchise.. it’s really upsetting they are so far disconnected from what the actual fans want from this series.. such a same
If they would of made BC3 and stuck to the same formula as BC2 but gave it the next gen treatment it would of been a massive hit
Thing is i dont think they're capable of capturing what made those fun/different anymore.
EA knows players want BC3 the same way Activision knows players want MW2 back. They will not make it because the goal is to make games built around MTX and Battle Royale.
will the video tearing and frame rate issues be fixed that were in the online demo? I tried so hard to get into this game, I loved the first BF on XBL, but the frame rates and video tearing were really bad on the demo. The hit detection seemed a little off as well. If they don't have that under control on the final version it will be a definite pass for me.
Also I don't think the destructible environments are what I thought they would be. It seemed very limited and nothing like I expected.
I am pulling for the final version of this game but I was really disappointed with the demo.
HORRIBLE Screen tearing.
Hey KARL MAGNUS...answer me this:
Why do trees explode on contact with things in your game? How come you can shoot directly at a wall support, and it just takes out the wall section next to it? How come you can't destroy a building.....but just its roof and walls? Do you have no mind for physics or gravity and how those things would affect a building that's had the crap blown out of it?
How come you claim your game is all about destruction and how it's going to change the way we look at FPS games, when RED FACTION did this SAME thing (tunneling through buildings and blowing up walls) back on PS2?!?!?!?
Battlefield: Bad Game Design is NOT an innovate shooter.
The ONLY thing good about this game is the HDR Sound. But that's it.
Red Faction brought this into FPS games, and it will CONTINUE it with Red Faction: Geurrilla, with COMPLETE structural destruction ability, with real-world physics and gravity applied to all objects and structures.
You could literally pick apart a building with a hammer in the new Red Faction, and each and every strike with the hammer would reduce the structural integrity of the building, to the point of eventual collapse.
Battlefield: Bad Game Design.
