City Suggestions for Grand Theft Auto VI

Adam of Corrupted Cartridge writes "With Grand Theft Auto V being the huge critical and commercial success that it was, it’s difficult to imagine GTA 6 not becoming a reality. And while we’ve probably all got one or two anticipatory questions regarding the next entry in the series, when it comes to GTA there is, perhaps, no question more pertinent than that of setting. A franchise that prides itself on its satirical sense of humor, the city in which each GTA game takes place always plays a paramount role in the game’s narrative experience. Well, I’ve been doing some thinking and I already have a few settings in mind. So, without further adieu, here are a few of my own city suggestions for Grand Theft Auto VI."

* Being in a real location restricts full creativity.

I want a brand new make believe place not based on any real city.

* Have it be in the future, like 2105 or something.

Nothing outside of America is likely going to happen. Dan Houser has essentially shot this idea down in a few interviews talking about Grand Theft Auto V.

"I think for us, my gut feeling is, GTA London was cool for the time, but games were more limited then. These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don't know if it
would be a GTA game.

I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don't think it would be a GTA necessarily.There are so many games we'd like to make that we just don't have the bandwidth to make at the moment. But we always think, well the future is long and varied, and that's what the future's for. Speaking for myself – and normally I'd be as militant about saying 'we' as much as possible, because it certainly isn't only me at all, thank god – but my own personal feeling is that GTA is America."

There are other cities you can parody or even just make up an entirely new one! We've been playing liberty city, vice city, and san andreas since the FIRST GTA!!!

Lol at the suggestion of Kansas City. Why not Duluth, Minnesota while you're at it. A key to GTA's success has been it's critique of American culture /values at the time. Like it or not there are only a handful of iconic Cities / regions in the US that are known the world over (key point). NY, LA, MIA (honorable mention for Chicago but that's a stretch, sorry). I think it would be interesting to see the series go abroad but I wont hold my breath. With Rockstar retreading old ground with NY & LA, its only logical that Miami makes its return. Not saying this would be my choice, but it makes sense. The city has changed a great deal since the 80's I think Rockstar will have a lot to say.

Incase you're not aware, there's been a pattern with Rockstar remaking all the previous gen's cities into the next gen..... Vice City is the next big city in the GTA anthology.....

Lol, most of these suggestions are the same people who think assassin's creed is a ninja stealth game and keep saying some ridiculous locations.
