5 Reasons To Buy Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls

Make Use Of: The first expansion to Diablo 3 is now available and has enjoyed a smooth launch. Servers did not go down, errors did not appear, and the game was playable ten minutes earlier than expected. And that’s just the tip of the awesome iceberg. Here’s five reasons while Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls retakes the Action-RPG throne for Blizzard.

It's a Diablo 3 every Diablo fans is waiting for. The adventure mode is a blast, smart loot system kept you wanting to hunt for more, huge class rebalance since pre-patch 2.0. The only downside is most of it locked on expansion (on PC, next-gen release will have the full game + expansion but no release date yet), so the expansion is kinda obligatory and new players has to buy both the vanilla and expansion.

This is coming from me, someone who bought Diablo 3 on launch few years ago, play it like 10 hours and drop it because of disappointment, but now play it every chance I get.

Er, what? Unlike most expansions, Reaper of Souls does NOT lock vanilla players out of content. The oonly thing vanilla is missing is access to the Crusader Class and Act V. All of the new items, lore, and improved systems have all been incorporated into the vanilla game.

the adventure mode is also locked, level cap increase is locked as well. Many of the new legendaries and sets only available on adventure mode and level 70, making it literally cannot be accessed without the expansion.

This is the complete list of things locked without the expansion:

- The Crusader class. You will be limited to the same 5 classes that originally launched.
- Act 5. The story will end with Diablo.
- The Mystic. You will only be able to use the Jeweler and Blacksmith. The mystic allows you to customize ("Transmogrify") the visual style of the armor and weapons, and enchant items (change a single stat on an item to another).
- Level 70. You will not be able to get past level 60. This means you will also not be able to get artisans higher than level 10.
- Adventure Mode. You will be limited to the story mode. You will not be able to do bounties or Nephalem Rifts.
- Blood Shards. You cannot collect blood shards or gamble.
- New Gems: Imperial gems and higher can be dropped / combined only with the expansion. This also implies you can and will have to increase your Jeweler and Blacksmith artisan level to 12.
- New Legendary items: Some new legendary items will only drop on level 70. And some even only on Torment difficulty.
