Xbox One Needs More Exclusive Content To Move Consoles

TT "I talked previously about the hardware and cost issues for the Xbox One. Those are major issues, but can be overcome with enough exclusive content. That’s where Microsoft is failing. I won’t even bring up the frame rate issues in traditional multiplatform games. Even with the performance flaws of the Xbox One editions of those games, they still serve a purpose. While creating competition between the various consoles, they help developers learn how to utilize the system architecture for the consoles."

@PSN Jerz

Lol.. why would you waste your only bubble on a comment like that? ...weird.

Ontopic: "Xbox One Needs More Exclusive Content To Move Consoles"

While i agree with the article, i think it needs to be pointed out that MS is already working on as many exclusives as they can from st , 2nd and 3rd party devs atleast from Phils recent comments and leaks its obvious there is a lot planned down the line.

"why would you waste your only bubble on a comment like that?"

Because it was funny as hell!
Lighten up.

On Topic:
E3 will be here before we know it.
All will be known then.

LOL!

Unlike Chris I have a sense of humor and thought that was funny as hell!

The X1s line up currently has plenty of exclusives. Going forward more exclusives will come. After a price drop, I fully expect the X1 to overcome the ps4 in NA. The 360 trounced the ps3 in NA. The only thing helping the ps4 right now is price. MS showcased a slew of games at E3 2013, and it looks like E3 2014 will be even better.
http://www.gamezone.com/new...

Whoever wrote this article is stupid. Kinect needs to come with the X1. The X1 is an all in one device, and removing Kinect would cause the X1 to lose that advantage. People still whining about Kinect being included with the X1 are ignorant to what all Kinect adds to the X1. I myself was ignorant of Kinect until I purchased an X1 and found out what all Kinect brings. I wouldn't want an X1 without being able to control my entire entertainment center. Kinect brings video chat as well as a more robust set of features for Upload Studio, and Twitch. I can move between games in seconds by simply speaking. An X1 without Kinect would be a step backwards.

I won't buy a 1 with kinect. Neither will my friends. So they're losing about 10 sales right there

DawnOfDon3836d ago

oh snap, Bankrupt Alert!!!!! 10 sales is nothing to a $billion company. What is wrong with the kinect by the way?

OpieWinston3836d ago

Well if you're the kind of guy who likes playing with their friends I'd recommend you start considering an X1. PS4 won't be offering you much in terms of Co-op or competitive gameplay experiences.

Fable Legends 4 Player Open world RPG (5-10 years of content)
Sunset Overdrive Massive Open World Shooter (Multi-year plan)
Class4 Zombie MMO (State of Decay Sequel)
Halo (Competitive/Co-op focus)
Gears (Competitive/Co-op focus)
Forza Horizon 2 (Open World racing game)
Etc...

DawnOfDon3836d ago

@Gozer

Well said I hated the original kinect and was ignorant towards it until I bought my X1 and I agree it needs to come with it unless it goes against the All-in-one console it is meant to be

malokevi3836d ago

Here's an idea.... how about a documentary about a crappy game that ended up in a garbage heap?

Intrigued yet? Didn't think so.

I think after E3 we will have a better understanding of the exclusives that are in development. Right now, the only ones that pop into my head are: Halo 5, Kinect Sports, Sunset Overdrive, and Quantum Break. Of course, I expect to hear about Forza Horizons, Class 4, Crackdown, Gears, and a plethora of unannounced goodness, but your work-a-day shlub doesn't know about that kind of stuff. MS needs to put it's best foot forward and wow people with an irresistible lineup of exclusive software.

Personally, I'm not worried. Watch what a billion dollars can do.

Lawboy23836d ago

How many exclusives do u ppl want there is already....11 exclusive and 12 console exclusive right now...geez

Gamer6663836d ago

Exclusives are a bad way to compare things.

MS allows publishers and devts to ship on Windows and XB because they benefit from both platforms receiving the game. Sony studios only ships Sony games to PS platforms. So, Sony always wins the exclusive battle...

But, lets talk about new IPs this gen so far... Titanfall, Ryse, PvZ Garden Warefare, Lococycle, Powerstar Golf, Xbox Fitness, Fighter Within, Crimson Dragon, Max and the Curse of Brotherhood, and Zoo Tycoon have all appeared on X1 first.

And completely new revs of existing games like Deadrising, Forza, Killer Instinct, and Peggle are only on X1...

Sure PS has more exclusives, but when it comes to fresh, new content X1 is the place to be.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad745d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g745d ago (Edited 745d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad1026d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal1024d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
