Titanfall: Why The Secrecy About The 360 Version?

Titanfall has been a big success on the Xbox One and the PC. The game was actually a system seller and did help shift more than a few Xbox One consoles, but despite the fact it has not been heavily advertised Titanfall is also coming to the Xbox 360.

To be honest I almost forgot it was for the 360 I believe as the article stated it may have been a plot to push the xbox one.

I agree 100% there is no other reason why stop the sales boost now.

ShinMaster4101d ago (Edited 4101d ago )

They did it to make people buy an Xbox One. They need the boost.

There may be people that are only excited for the game itself but not the new Xbox or may be on the fence, so Microsoft can't have those people finding out that they don't really need an Xbox One to play Titanfall.

@shin this is cleary direct to you

what i dont get with the general n4g population summary about titanfall not being exclusive to xbox one, is that even tho it also releases on the 360 (pc also but not comparing anything other than xbone/360) it will sell too making the investment even better. At a marketing stand point they have 80 million to convince to stay on their platform, be it xbone/360 (pc) and what better way to do it then a good game. titanfall360 will most likely be the tool to upgrade, plus other titles.... almost like a referral service.

i think they make money twice

USA0074101d ago

@Mad at me

Yes they make money off of every platform Titanfall goes on, but MS will make more money and get a console sale if customers feel the need to buy an X1 for titanfall. Since MS is doing most the advertising, they'll market it the way they can make the most money.

Angeljuice4101d ago

They're taking their time as they are having to gimp the 360 version (the current build outperforms the XBone by 33%).

medman4101d ago

If MS only wanted it for the xbox one and PC, then that's how it would been advertised and shipped. It's coming for the 360, be glad that they decided to make some final adjustments. This article asked what changes can be made in two weeks? There was about 3-4 weeks between Beta and release where they made some significant fixes to the glitches.

KonsoruMasuta4101d ago

But it's not only for XboxOne and PC, so why would it be advertised that way?

Hicken4101d ago

What type of final adjustments could they have made to the game a week before release?

TheRedButterfly4101d ago (Edited 4101d ago )

You'd be surprised how much tweaking can go on behind the scenes in just one week.

liquidhalos4100d ago

@redbutterfly, the disks have already been pressed and packaged at this point. Any tweaks this close will come in the form of patches. Clearly a marketing ploy to push the Xbox One

ramiuk14101d ago

it should of been xbone and pc only

No_Limit4101d ago

Respawn made the PC and XB1 version so of course more advertisement will be made for those versions. It is not rocket science.

Qrphe4101d ago

If X1 version is having performance issues now imagine a console with a tenth of its power. Game is broken I bey

Aces174101d ago

Or you know maybe it just isn't done. But I guess Microsoft has to be doing something shaddy, right?

N4GJD4101d ago

It quite obvious that Microsoft wants to create the perception it's an Xbox One exclusive to sell units; and releasing the Xbox 360 port afterwards only helps to do so. The Xbox 360 port of the game will be near identical.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1008d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1008d ago (Edited 1008d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
