Checking it myself the user score is at 6.0 and some of the opinions don't seem like stuff you could form without playing the game at least once.

It sucks that every single negative score against Titanfall are all done by playstation fanboys and we all know that Nintendo fans, Sega fans, pc fans,atari fans,barbie doll fans and others would never think anything negative about a perfect game like titanfall. Titanfall deserves all 10s because it's so innovative.

Titanfall was impossible to be made on ps4 because it's a weak console and doesn't have cloud computing like xbox one to render the amazing realistic graphics, insane amount of AI and other technical things. Go back and look at every major xbox release on meta and read the user scores. There is a higher percentage of negative reviews towards xbox games than there is PS games.

It's widely known that the MAJORITY (not all) PS fans do not like Titanfall due to it being an MS exclusive.

My question is, are people really that butt hurt over a video game they go out of their way to downgrade a games score? Like who the heck cares? I'm not buying infamous, I have no desire to watch videos or read about it, so why go out of my way to lower a games score? I just don't get it.

Titanfall could have gotten a 1/10, but I enjoy the game so I'm buying it.

It's not because the game isn't coming on your console that you should go and blast the ratings off the game.

Sure, the game isn't perfect with:
-It's awfully stupid AI
-The lower resolution to 792p on Xbox One
-The low player count 6v6 (I would have liked 24p+)
-One weapon that's rigged "Smart"
-No single player campaign

But it's not all bad, they're are good things about this game like:
-You can climb walls with jetpacks
-It's fast-pace BUT people don't get killed with just a few bullets. (At least less than COD)
-It has Mechs, Mechs are awesome.
-Decent amount of maps

The ratings of 8.9 or 8.4 are overly rated.
I'm giving it a great 7.5.
It could have gotten better had it be only human players; then it would have been at least a 8

If I were to refer myself to other games I've enjoyed in the past and they had 6~8 ratings that were better than Titanfall, but a good game is a good game, it doesn't sh*t because of fanboys (That goes the same way around for Xbox Fanboys)

Another thing, DON'T listen to any ratings.
I've said that time and time again.
You don't let a pure stranger tell you what you should or should not do.

Have you even player the game? 6v6 is plenty, id love to see 24v24 and have no one be able to move because the map is packed with 48 players and 48 titans, yea that sounds like an absolute blast!

I've played 50 matches, been killed twice by a smart pistol. Why is it so difficult for people to understand the game caters to EVERYONE. A new gamer or a casual fan picks up cod or bf, and instantly getting slaughtered every match because of all the unlocks and kill streaks which reward good players. Games are made to be fun. With the stupid bots and smart pistol, the casual fan can enjoy the game and feel a sense of accomplishment. Hardcore gamers dont worry about bots or smart pistols. And no single player is great. Sorry I dont need to waste 6 hours on a half ass single player when I'm going to spend 99% of the time online.

Sadly, things like this happen. Consoles get low scores on places like Amazon because rival fanboys rate it 0 or 1 star. Fanboys put in fake reviews on metacritic to try to lower the score, like that will give some sort of justification to their pettiness.

It's almost as if they can't handle not having the game to play themselves, so they try to make themselves feel better by putting down something they haven't even played.

I honestly think that the Metacritic user reviews are the most reliable reviews on the net. upon reading the reviews you'll find a general consensus about the game and for me it rarely ever strays from my opinion/review.

and when you look at the troll-reviewed games like all the CoDs after World at War, people were just venting at the fact that the games were incredibly similar to the previous iteration. the same thing happened to to games like Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, SimCity etc. all got "troll reviews" and all those games had hugely unpopular elements within them. when the user review is really low there usually is a reason behind it. as the saying goes "where there is smoke there is fire"

the Metacritic user reviews can be reliable once you know how to use them. a small minority of the games are troll-reviewed.

Metacritic's user score is only valid when it is positive, IMO. It is only when it proves something (that the game is not hated). The low scores on AAA games usually comes from "enemies" and nitpicking sheep.

Gamespot, before destroying their reputation and layout, had thousands of people scoring games and was a good source for the players' opinion.

Now I'm completely without a reliable source for players' ratings. Any tips?

I used to go to quartertothree.com quite a bit. They don't do as many reviews as they used to but when they do their "let's play" style blogs it's very telling about a game and how good it is and the reviewers there seem very fair.

best thing to do is look at a video of a game if u think you like it - buy/rent it and play it I never purchase a game based on a review - I didnt for every game i purchased on the nes, snes, gameboy, master system, genesis, N64, saturn, dreamcast, PS1, PS2, xbox, xbox360, PS3 and Ps4 and I have played some amazing unforgettable games on there some that even had bad reviews but were still great to play.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. People tried bringing down games like The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider etc but failed...check the user scores there. The user scores failed to bring those games down but sometimes it works.

I think it's not right calling one group of people when it's a common thing people try to do on Metacritic.

they think their actions just being loyal to a particular brand and so hate anything from its rival, regardless of quality. When in fact they are being childish. Its just backlash for EA playing favorites with Microsoft on such a highly anticipated game and can you blame them, when was the last AAA exclusive EA put out only on Sonys platform. It really has nothing to do with the quality of Titanfall as that is not an issue. The issue is that when Titanfall was revealed it was multiplatform then E3 rolled around and Sony fans had their legs cut out from under them by the exclusivity to MS platforms. Video game fan here...but I generally lean towards Sony's platform. I played Titanfall and rather enjoyed it. It reminds me of Unreal Tournament in its pacing, very quick which is a nice change from the traditionally slow FPS. That said, I'm not all that excited for it because at this stage in my life, I do very little multiplayer gaming outside of Warframe and A Realm Reborn: Final Fantasy XIV.

Game reviews done by people who are paid to review a game in magazines or on sites like Eurogamer & Gamespot for eg are better than listening to some snotty kid who can't afford both consoles. Tbh I don't see what all the fuss is about, the game is above average at best and brings hardley any innovation compared to some up and coming games like watchdogs or Destiny. I remember reading identical articles on N4G about Uncharted and Halo games.

It's simple really, anyone 5 years and over that owns an Xbox one, should already know to buy titanfall without reviews, it's a fantastic fun game. I can't play it because I'm at work and all I can think about is how to improve my titan skills lol.

I think the bad reviews are great! Maybe the development will look at them, think they are real, and try that much harder to make the game better, not that's it's not already a blast.

To be honest I would never trust user reviews for ANY game whether it's for Xbox, PS, or Nintendo. Only professional reviews tell the true story even if you may disagree with certain points.

Sony fanboys are pathetic leave em alone to their knack.Trust me titanfall scored amazing the game is amazing.Also the Pre orders passed a million world wide with the Xbox One having 670,000 of those.Sony fanboys tried to stop titanfall and the X1 couldnt do it though.Xbox One took back its number 1 spot last week in sales in the U.S and UK.PS4 could never pull in pre orders like that for an exclusive.I also heard a rumor that with all the hate sony fans gave the game that respawn may not bring titanfall 2 to the PS4 since they hate it so much.Which is awesome im still pulling for respawn to go to microsoft with titanfall before EA screws it up

What's funny here is we know who and why the Titanfall score is being dragged down. The who is Sony fan the why is and it's simple they just don't like the anti consumer company Microsoft. The funny part is those Titanfall, Microsoft fans acting as if they don't do the same thing. Go check out the Metacritic site and see the Killzone Shadow Fall scores or better yet just wait till Infamous SS comes out in 2 weeks. The Xbots will be at the Metacritic site doing the exact same thing. Of course no one has to go and see because it common knowledge.

So what's the big deal? If obvious paid reviews are allowed (EGM) and troll reviews (e.g TLOU review from gamespot)then it's fair game. I've never been to 80% of the sites that have reviews on there. I think we either take it or leave it as it is

I opted to go with the PS4 this round after a great experience in which I was slightly late to the party but shelled out $500 for my PS3. Ive never regretted buying that thing and made the transition with ease to the PS4 thusly. I couldnt help but get the Wii U for exclusives, but Im not interested in Xbox One primarily because of how Microsoft treated consumers. Bright is the end, but a long way to get there. Its going to take a lot of time and a lot of effort to ser right what went wrong.

This however, once I read the first part of the title, was predictable and what has been done was all in poor taste and shameful. Titanfall doesnt look like the greatest game, and from some reviews sounds like a good base to build off of, and I wish there were a single-player mode, and I would love to play the sequel--which hopefully wont be titled Titanfall 2 or my game collection will look off-- but this wasnt deserved. We understand we took a lot of guff from Xbox 360 gamers with the PS3, and they may have created this monster but, we're better than that to buy in and play their game. Let needs be what needs be. Let a game rise or fall by its own failures or merrits, not some threatened fanboys. What woukd it accomoplish anyway? Its hard enough to judge critic reviews alone from the media, crap like this is uncalled for. And you knew darn well theyre going to fight backband do this same bit with InFamous Second Son, so what did you really accomplish? You just loosed the demon from the bottle and goodluck getting it back in there. Shame on all of you. Not cool and not funny. Seriously.

To Xbox fans, we're not all like this. Its the console wars and its supposed to be a battle, but all in good fun. The SNES vs Genesis days were fun because gamers were so into gaming. These are a few select jerkoffs that ruin it for the rest and those of us sane gamers in the PlayStation community apologize for the buttholes that did this. We're all, honestly, happy youve got one heck of a game to play on your new hardware. It couldve been fun on PS4 as well but, the cards were dealt in your favor. Not all of us are all that psyched about the game, and could care less but, we're glad to see you're having fun with the experience. Thats what gaming is really about. Game on! Same thing will happen to infamous 2 when it releases , eye for an eye mentality will kick in just not to the well organised extent. Personally I think most people don't take any notice of user reviews so it ends up being a non factor.
