A user from the Castlevania Dungeon named Kingshango had communication with a Mercurysteam employee for a few months. "After Enric dismissed every idea and core decission from our main art director for the previous projects, he decided to just leave." "Our now former art director is still working in Madrid, now with the Tequila guys making RIME"

Damn, seeing how RIME is looking to be beautiful, if the art design for it is his doing imagine what would have been for LoS 1 & 2. Mercurysteam lost a good employee. Hopefully they change some management, else they'll end up like some of the other companies that have been shutting down lately.

"The vast majority of this team is aware that the game we’ve done is a real piece of shit that has nothing to do with the first one’s quality and production values…"

That really sucks because I was looking forward to the next Castlevania but I have been hearing some awful things about the game.

I've worked at companies just like the one this guy/girl describes at nothing is worse when you get a super star producer who wants to control every aspect of production just to feed his own ego.

The sad part is this guy can now write hos own ticket anywhere because he has a well known franchise on his resume.

"The QA department is treated like cattle, with shameful wages and almost everyday bullying."

My QA days were just like this. You were truly treated as the bottom of the toilet bowel and paid just the same.

Good luck to all these guys.

Enric Álvarez sounds like a real piece of work. Geez.

OH SNAP! color me excited! Honestly think mercurysteam has some major talent, and i'm glad to finally see them get a chance at another big title since lords of shadow.

jznrpg876d ago

Interested because it’s an rpg but with no info at all who knows . Dread was pretty good but it’s a side scroller and totally different from a 3D action rpg game .

Kinda bad on the company to not recognize everyone who was involved with the development. Look at some movies credits. Sometimes they credit the dogs of the workers. Zero excuse here.

LordoftheCritics923d ago

Absolutely. Every input is still input.

isarai924d ago

Well that's BS, dont see why, it's just text.

Kaii924d ago

Imagine throwing 80-hour workweeks or more on these projects & these assholes pull this, disgusting trash.
End credits aside, I truly appreciate everyone's contributed efforts on game development.

LordoftheCritics923d ago

I'm sorry sir but you only worked 364 days.

boing1924d ago

Well, I worked for a company which didn't put me in the credits because I left 2 months before release, after almost 3 years of work. Date was moved three times and I was sooo sick of it that I said 'I'm not doing this anymore' and quit.

MaximusTKG924d ago

That sounds more like your fault than anything. Are they supposed to feel bad for you because you quit because you couldn’t do it anymore? You were sick of it. Were they paying you to do a job? Then you just quit? Did you give a notice or just walk out? Likely the latter, and likely the reason you aren’t on some credit reel nobody looks at. Hang on, I need to unpack my tiny violin.

boing1924d ago (Edited 924d ago )

Wow, you're assuming a lot. I didn't say I'm sad because of it. I knew I won't be in the credits because that was and probably still is company policy. I wasn't the only one who wasn't in the credits because of this. I would question the fairness of the policy itself, though. Especially after such a long time. Notice was given and we came apart just fine, without any bad blood. The stories I've heard after I left, though? They only re-assured me it was a good decision.

LoveSpuds924d ago

I am just glad I don't live in the US, your workers rights are utterly atrocious. I guess people like Maximus help that lack of rights continue.

monkey602923d ago

I've never said this before, because it's typically a meaningless statistic but I'm glad the disagrees are stacking up for your opinion on this. A take like that deserves to be ignored

dudeOplenty923d ago

@MaximusTKG - Who hurt you to make you this kind of person? I’m sorry for whatever they did to you.
