A history of Halo: Glitch Hunting, Machinima and Social Gaming

As the Halo series continues on its path, I look over what made the first two games stand out to me. With many hours spent just having fun, I wanted to explore why I could spend so much more time on the older games compared to the later iteration.

Never got into Halo much past the first game. I read 'Fall of Reach' though, which was surprisingly well written.

Fall of reach was a really great book. I loved the way it ended where the game started. The second book was really cool too as it went into the events of the first game, and explained things in a bit more detail.

Fall of Reach was a great read. I've enjoyed the 6 Halo books I've read. That reminds me that I need to read the Forerunner saga before Halo 5 comes out.

I miss the days when Halo was in its prime

Doogle3003771d ago

I strongly believe it was all down to the community of Halo. The only reason it was ever so fun, was due to the fact that everyone seemed united in their love of Halo.

Shadonic3771d ago

It's pretty divided nowadays. It's split between the older players that dont really like the new additions to the game that heavily affect the balance and stuff that was present in previous titles and then there's the older players that quite honestly would seem to like anything that's added to Halo because its Halo.

Halo 2's glitch box has never been quite matched, even more glitches than Halo 1 I think. The Phantom dropping into the bottom of Threshold (storm) physically broke whatever control to laugh I had.

Doogle3003771d ago

There were too many great glitches and easter eggs to list them all, but I do remember loving getting out of Containment (no pun intended) and riding to the top of the spire thing with a Spectre, then having fights at the top.
Or super bouncing to the top of Headlong and looking for the fabled "Golden Warthog"

Butterflying is to this day, one of the best video game features ever, regardless of whether it was intentional or not.

well put on all fronts doog!

TheUltimateGamer3771d ago

That and the rocket/sword lunge.. Man, good times.

TripC503771d ago

Not really a glitch but I remember trying to get something called a scarab gun for hours.

Crunch+Bad management+Greedy disgusting monetization.
I'll tune back in when D3 is dropping and they've toned down the monetization & the foundation is good

Final Spape campaign getting very positive reviews. I am enjoying the Final Spape campaign myself. Definitely worth the delay.
