Rare: 'Don't judge Banjo-Threeie on screenshots alone'

Destructoid reports: "As you might have heard, Rare sprung something of a massive leak yesterday with regards to Banjo-Threeie. At first it was a trickle, with two screenshots dribbling out onto the Internet, but now a veritable torrent of bear-themed imagery has threatened to drown us all. Now, with screenshots invariably come judgment, and gamers have been quick to draw their own conclusions as to what Banjo-Threeie will be about. According to Rare, however, the armchair analysts are dead wrong."

lol, you are nothing but armchair analysts... aka fanboys with one track minds.

I think it looks fine, can't wait to play it, I love the other two Banjo games.

Jinxstar6242d ago

I agree. The game looks good but my only problem is... A lot of people ragged on Ratchet and Clank for being "Cartoony" and "Childish" I know those same people will praise this game just because its on their console...

solidt126242d ago

Yeah far as graphics is concerned it looks great. Im not sure what they are worried about. I hope people support Rare and this game.

Jinxstar6242d ago

No doubt. I hope it makes the leap into this gen of gaming. It has been hard for many games but I have always had a lot of faith in Rare. They should do great. I just hope it reflects as such in sales for them.

socomnick6241d ago

Problem with ratchet was that its a shooter disguised as a platformer.

Feihc Retsam6241d ago

But for a full game, it looks terrible. The textures look flat, the polygon count looks to be low, there doesn't seem to be one bit of Next-Gen effects added to it at this point, so I don't blame anybody for being disappointed at the leaked screens... XboxLive arcade games like Small Arms feature more impressive graphics than those shown in these screenshots, let alone comparing them to a game like the latest Ratchet & Clank game... That game was cartoonish, but looked great. These Banjo shots are pathetic...

Now, with that aside, I'm relieved to hear that the screenshots don't do the game justics, because I think Viva Pinata looked fantastic, and I loved the original Banjo games on the N64. I'm pretty confident that Rare will have this game looking squeaky clean by the time it is released...

predator6242d ago

who ever bases that this game is rubbish on three screenshots are retarded to say the leas.

IMO Banjo 3 looks awesome, Rare are the kings

Apocwhen6241d ago

Totally agree with you.
I think it looks fantastic. I love the art direction. Banjo Kazooie was such a great platform game on the N64. I wish I had an 360 to play it :( I'll have to borrow my bro's and buy this game.

marionz6242d ago

rare are the masters when it comes to games like this, even tho kameo was short it showcased amazeing graphics for the time, and truth told they still hold up really well, anyone that thinks banjo is going to do anything less then amaze are in for a real let down.

im glad rare confirmed its not vechicle based like a racer or anything like that, im also holding out to find out what (in rare's words) the meat of the game is.

my must haves are simple, gears 2 banjo kazooie and viva pinata 2

wow4u6241d ago

Huxley, Fable 2, Halo Wars and Tales of Vesperia.

Shaka2K66242d ago

Maybe if those pictures were in-game and didnt look so mediocre next to R&C Future.

6/10 game at max.

BrianC62346242d ago

Maybe what we should do is assume Banjo will be just like Rare's last few games, mediocre. No wonder Nintendo didn't want Rare anymore. What was their last good game?

Pain6241d ago

And It Sucks....

weather they Copying Others or not..game just sucks.

At first when I read your comment, I was like "6/10.. Are you fcking serious!?" Then I read your name, and said to myself.. "Oh, he's a PS3 fanboy... PS3 fanboys don't judge games on their gameplay, but on graphics." *COUGH*Lair*COUGH*

Poor xbox owners. After seeing Ratchet and Clank:TOD which has been praised by the press such as the New York Times as being the first game to reach CGI levels, Banjoo fails at an epic level that it looks like a PS2 game upscaled.

I want a new Perfect Dark, Banjo and Jet Force Gemini.

Bathyj1753d ago

I actually don't want them. I'm not a big fan of Microsoft rehashing IPs they had nothing to do with creating just because they happen to own them.

Before you call me fanboy tell me a game they did that to that actually lives up the the original?

Just leave our beloved memories alone. You want to bring something back, redo crimson Skies or Brute Force. At least they were your games and they need updates.

gamer78041753d ago

I'm all for The Initiative rebooting perfect dark as a third person though, sounds like its trying something new and not just rehashing with a new coat of paint with this idea. Hope we see a tease of it in the next showcase.

gamer78041753d ago

Rumor is The Initiative is working on rebooting Perfect Dark in third person, normally I wasn't a fan of taking existing IPs but if its something new like this I'm up for it.

jznrpg1753d ago (Edited 1753d ago )

Don’t give them the Battletoads treatment .

TravsVoid1753d ago (Edited 1753d ago )

Donkey Kong Country is probably my favorite game of all time but I've not connected with much else Rareware has made since other than maybe Killer Instinct. Sea of Thieves has got to be close to my worst $60 purchase I've ever made.

sagapo1753d ago

Viva pinata was kinda fun imo.

Ugh Musashi: Samurai Legend is so meh. Don't understand how you can go from Brave Fencer Musashi to that. I really want a Brave Fencer Musashi HD Remake or a true sequel. It's one of the best games I've ever played.

I actually liked it for what it was. But then again I'm not a Banjo fan. I actually hated a lot of the N64 style games that all followed the same Mario 64 style. Except for Conker.

IRetrouk2167d ago

I really enjoyed this game, the building was fun, I thought it was a well made platformer.

Vits2167d ago (Edited 2167d ago )

I kind of agree. The game had many new ideas that would have worked better in a new IP as people wouldn't be so upset that Nuts & Bolts played so differently from the older titles.

PhoenixUp2167d ago

I seriously hate how angular the redesigns are for so many of the characters in the game

The X06 trailer built people’s hopes only for the final release to ruin those dreams

-Foxtrot2167d ago

Damn right it should have

Can we just get Banjo Threeie and write this game off as Kazooies bad dream or something. An in game joke.
