Core game is still the same though right? So it's graphics over gameplay here. Some new levels or side extras would have been cool for those who already played the PC or last gen version.

^^^ I agree. Having just an enhance version for $60 is a rip off. If they had added at least a 2+ hours of new gameplay and change around other stuff then $60 would fit it.

Also I noticed "has a buttery frame rate" I haven't done enough research but is it 60fps or are they not giving an actual number for a reason?

I played the game last year on pc at about 15 fps due to my shitty card. So I may get this on my PS4, but still haven't yet seen enough to sell me on paying a full $60.

None of the retailers I've checked with are selling it at full price. But then I'm in Europe and our games cost more from the start.

To those above and below saying that this game is just an rip off I have this to say...I missed the game last gen so it's new to me.

It's not just a move from 720p to 1080p.

It's not just a move from below 30fps to a solid 30fps and above.

Improved physics for weather, gear, water, plant interaction,

Remodeled Lara Croft face.

TressFX custom written for Lara's hair.

Subsurface texture added to Lara to make her skin feel more alive when light hits it or allows for sweat to show when she is sweating.

Improved stability of MP mode.

All DLC included.

Dynamic lighting added along with more particle effects.

1 year of development time to achieve all of the above.

A simple HD upgrade would be going from 720p to 1080p that's all. With everything I listed above it's way beyond the standard HD remark.

I think you all seem to just refuse to read or lack the ability to comprehend what is really being offered and who it's being offered to...which is primarily to those who did not pick the game up on PC or last gen consoles.

It's targeted at those who wanted to move away from last gen but feel that games that are released close to the PS4/XB1's launch should get a nice upgrade like AC4/BF4/CoD:Ghosts.

Just saying I think you should put some more thought into your posts before making comments like these...but I know I will get phantom disagrees and zero actual responses to my counter points.

I think its funny how people are mad about this PS4 release.

If this was Grand Theft Auto V for PS4 or The Last of Us for PS4 everybody would be saying thank you for bringing those games to the PS4.

I personally bought this game for the PS3 and plan to buy it again for the PS4. Why? because I've played the crap out of the launch games and I enjoyed TR on the PS3.

Plus I get to try all the DLC that I didn't buy on the PS3. Would it be nice if it was cheaper? Yes, but if you didn't play the game before or really enjoyed the game, then it will be worth it.

I agree squire! I loved the PS3 version and picked that up at a discounted price anyway. I have found the PS4 version for £36 (instead of the £46+ everywhere else) so I am more that happy to pick this up again.

I absolutely loved it 1st time around and am not ashamed to admit that I love pretty graphics. For me, the gameplay was brilliant so having an amazing looking version for my new console suits me just fine.

To all complaining about price and being too early for a re-release: just wait and you will solve the time and price issues.

pc version IS the definitive version!

unless the ps4 can magically do 2560x1600 @ 60 frames like the version I played and only cost me $12 (amazon sales with steam key 2 months after release)

is the ps4 version even native 1920x1080 at 60 frames

I've heard a lot of people saying it is 30fps, but I don't know if that is confirmed. It won't surprise me, though, since most graphically demanding games on the PS4 and XB1 are 30fps.

They've added extra graphic enhancements, it's going to be more demanding than the 360 or ps3 version.

EDIT:And that's all they've added as well. If they had gave some attention to adding to the actual gameplay, extras levels and such, then it might be worth the price.

But seeing as anyone else can buy the game for a lot cheaper, and are essentially getting the same game, the price is extortionate.

I should point out that I have a very respectable PC but I love to play my consoles as much as I do the PC, particularly with the gap having been closed so much with the PS4/XB1.

naw he just dont like gamers getting raped how him stating this and showing how ps4 and xbone gaming are paying too much is trolling. the gap between pc and next gen console are only growing. is it now a bad thing? its just how technology works. now if a person stated this and that company still wanted to charge you full price the same as when the game first launched while fighting for you is that a problem? you must not be in the good fight. higher res and better effect that was there, but they want to charge you that, somebody needed to speak up. SE been doing this for the longest, and we need to do this to every dev that try to get over. its not the point if its on new consoles, its not about the pc, its about the greed because we all know it didnt take long to port and put these features in. stand up for something this gen if not, more stuff like paying for online, dlc, broken games, and more nickle and diming is gonna keep happening (which ran rampant last gen because everyone went with the masses and didnt stick together). are you playing for us or them? are they giving you a pension check? or are you gonna continue enjoying your hobby while letting them make a profit with treating you right.

the gaming community need to stick together because games are not getting cheaper and if you except this Bs your gonna get less and less content as time goes by and sorry to say this but pc gamers know more than anybody when it comes to that.

Seriously the thing that kills me being here so long is, that this is the top gaming site and gamers on here dont try to use it for good. so many gamers on here become fanboys, fight, and stick up for pubs, when we should check them and make them change their bad ethics. because we all know from experience that if we stick together they would change their gameplan( MS no trade in, games on different platforms, more games, better etc. lets get pass the BS and grow this industry.

Yes, the definitive version is the one with lesser graphics, with none of the added effects and major enhancements of the PS4, none of the newly introduced graphical techniques, and separate dlc. /s

Just grow up, the newest version is the best in terms of graphics and content (no real surprise there).

Inferior graphics with a higher resolution/faster framerate does not make something better or considered the definitive version.
