Square Enix: FFVII Director On Chances Of A Remake

Kotaku writes: Yes, yes. Japan wants a Final Fantasy VII remake. Maybe you want a remake, too. This we know! But is it possible? Well, of course, it's possible. But what are the chances of it actually happening any time soon?

UnblessedSoul6258d ago (Edited 6258d ago )

I bet they'll start on it after XIII and versus are done

Panthers6258d ago

I bet they have already started on it. E3 08!

yea im an optimist

PLiPhaze6258d ago

But I'm more of a realist...

Dark-Angel096258d ago

Square Enix still has a lot of games to develop. But i'm hopeful they decide to make the remake.

MaximusPrime6258d ago

looks like remake will be happening.

Just one suggestion, squareenix, keep it EXCLUSIVE to PS3.

BilI Gates6258d ago

Sony owns the rights to Final Fantasy VII. They published it.

KillaManiac6258d ago

Even though Sony Published the original FFVII, it doesn't mean it will 100% be exclusive.

*points at Ninja Gaiden Sigma*

Rick Astley6258d ago (Edited 6258d ago )

Um. Ninja Gaiden (the first one on Xbox) wasn't published by Microsoft. Please get your facts straight before you comment. IF Square-Enix were to remake FFVII, it will be exclusive to PS3 or PSP.

Ariexv6257d ago

Sony only published it in a few countries, when the publishing is split like that Square keeps all the rights.

They'll remake it. The game is just too good, popular and special not to remake. Just PLEASE don't mess it up and mess with the battle system too much

Booyah6258d ago

They better not mess with the battle systems or anything or I'm gonna buy the remake and throw it at SEnix in the face !

jadenkorri6258d ago (Edited 6258d ago )

keep original battle system, yes it may be out of date, but keep the classic rpg style off ff7, id be happy with just updated models myself...oh btw i would buy two one for collection and one for playing ;)

resistive776258d ago

both of them are coooooool. :/

clintos596258d ago

8 was my favorite but none the less I loved both and wouldnt mind a remake of both, lol is that asking for a little too much. :)

resistive776258d ago (Edited 6258d ago )

they make a remake and make it support PS eye to play the card game online :d.

It is just a dream :(

Yeah. That’s the first I’ve seen it anywhere near #1.

Mario 64 is great but I wouldn’t put it over Mario World.

Not having any Xenoblade Chronicles games on the list is a crime.

CUnit123123106d ago

Sorry lol. I wrote the article but 5 of us voted for many different games and majority went on the list then we worked on the list. If it were just my personal top favorite we'd seen some xenoblade and star ocean as well as some others. Thanks for checking out it!

RavenWolfx105d ago

Chrono Trigger at 31 makes my heart hurt.

Zeldafan64105d ago

Not having any Xenoblade Chronicles games on the list at all is a crime.

The effort here is impressive. Hope it doesn’t get taken down.

fr0sty316d ago

He should have done it in Dreams though, the limitations of having done it in LBP are obvious.

solideagle316d ago

ah Dreams had so much potential, I think they should have released it on PC. one can only dream about dreams sale and popularity on PC. PC has modding/creative crowd and I think it would have been a hit

gleepot316d ago

I love seeing projects like this. So much passion and time.
