Shin'en has some great news for Fast Racing Neo fans. The eShop game uses "4-8K textures", which means it will produce "hyper real graphics".
Shin'en Multimedia, the developer behind Nintendo Switch launch title Fast RMX, has teased an upcoming announcement for the console.
It’s the REMIX!
+ fast racing, nice visuals
+ fun polarity system
+ good multiplayer options, local and online
+ variety of vehicles and tracks
– never really found a good use leaning
– crashing into walls sometimes felt too inevitable(this may be leaning related)
The Fast series is somewhat of a spiritual successor to F-Zero, a Nintendo franchise that has been long forgotten by Nintendo itself. If Nintendo won't develop any more games in the series, at least Shin'en is trying...but have their efforts ended up being worth it? Let's dig in.
Sounds great. Shin'en really knows how to produce those 'wow' visuals while keeping sizes down. I can't wait to see some gameplay from this one.
GREATAAAAHAAY!!!
Less talking, more showing, ok?
:3
Also, I don't have the slightest clue what "4-8k textures" means. Anyone in the know to explain it to me in dumb terms, please?
Wow and just a decade ago Xbox 512X512 was considered hi res textures.
inb4 comments regarding whether or not Wii U is next-gen and how this proves/disproves it based on comparisons to the other two, despite the fact that gens are defined by sequence, not specs.
Now that that's out of the way; good on ya, Shin-en. I know you're not doing F-Zero, but I think Fast Racing Neo just might be a really good hold-over title till a new F-Zero DOES get made by whoever Nintendo puts to the task.
My wallet is waiting, Shin'en. Just get the game done and you can dig in.XD
