Titanfall, Killer or Clone?

There are many unanswered questions around this next gen title. Is Titanfall really going to be as great as the hype would lead everyone to believe, or is it just another Call of Duty?

Cant feel the hype

Remember everyone being hyped for Starhawk, a game with a more awesome idea of starfighters transforming into robots, and calling out whoul bases from space, but everyone lost interest very quickly.

If the impressions of literally every single human being on planet Earth who have played the game is anything to go on... we are in for something INCREDIBLY special.

And that's just alpha gameplay. Imagine what this beast will be like when it drops.

Because literally every single person who has played the game has walked away from the booth with a child-like sense of wonderment. If that's not substantial enough for you, than I don't want to know what is. And, frankly, I don't care!

EDIT: I am getting both consoles and I will try it, but I have low expectations based on what I have played with other free MMO/adventure games.

Exactly what i think...people will hype it up, it will come out hype will consume people, then it will wear off and they'll play on something else.

It has no single player either so you know

All you have is a standard FPS (core elements of COD) and bits and pieces from other games like Halo with Jetpacks, Lost Planet with Mechs, BRINK with wall running.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.
I really hate it when people say things like "this is just CoD with mechs." Here we have an FPS game that actually innovates and tries to be unique, and people are just bashing it because it's not going to come to the PS4.
TitanFall is on a whole different level. CoD is a joke nowadays.

Only thing is this really is not that innovative. Killzone 3 had Mechs and Jetpacks. If you read some of the PS fans comments a lot were saying this when it was announced. I've said numerous times if the game is that good then I would get it on PC. That being said I was also fine waiting for it to come to the ps4 which we now no it won't.

Other games have had jet packs in them too but its the way this game looks like it plays that makes it feel different to any other FPS game. For me this could be the Halo 3 of next gen that gets everyone excited about fps games again.

KZ, COD, BF ect were all fun fps games but they were nothing special in terms of what they offered in MP like Halo 3 did.

For me ive decided to miss every fps game on the one and PS4 until this game comes out as I am getting bored of FPS games quick as I have battered them for 8 years on the 360 and PS3 and found my self pre ordering more Nintendo games this year as I want a change of game types for me.

That's a very shallow way to put it. I loved KZ3 but I doubt the use of mechs/jetpacks in that game were as convenient compared to TitanFall.

I'm not saying the game won't turn out great. It may take net packing and mechs to a whole new level. Just saying not everyone thinks it's the beat all end all. If what I see from the demos and gamay video kicks ass then I will get it on PC for sure.

Still some of us are not losing sleep from it not coming to the PS4.

@ McStorm, I felt the same about Killzone 2 multiplayer as you did about Halo. The game was so different from the norm with its warzone approach, invisible snipers and saboteurs that looked like the enemy. That's why I'm looking forward to KSF going back to its roots. Also looking forward to Destiny which seems different from the same old approach.

Yeah, it's really not doing anything innovative. It does look like Call of Duty with mechs. And both mechs and jetpacks have already been done in an FPS. Even the online-only part has been done before.

That doesn't mean it can't be really good and really fun, though.

The annoying thing is people like malokevi saying, "Oh, everybody hates the game now that it's not gonna be on PS4," but the truth is that people are having the exact same damn reaction to the game as they did prior to that.

One way or another, I'll play some Titanfall. It may be the sequel on PS4, or I may upgrade my (ridiculously bad) PC, or I may just get it on 360.

Here it goes. Now that it's confirmed that Titanfall isn't coming to PS3 or PS4 they're going to TRY to downplay and bash it so hard. But nothing can be said to turn people away from playing. Word of mouth will spread like California forrest fires. Having it on the 360 with millions of consoles in many homes and then the X1 and PC on top of that, there will be no stopping Titanfall. Titanfall I'm sure will a good game. The problem lies with Microsofts back and forth nonsense. Everyone on this site saw the gloom and doom the Xbox presented at E3 with their system regulations. So, Xbox1 did a "360" and withdrew their initial setup. Now they think there going to win everyone back solely cause of 1 title. To me thats ridiculous and I will wait till they prove more with other games come. I initially wanted both systems till the price points were made available. This is the reason Microsoft needs to gain back the trust from me. I bought a 360 at launch 2 years later RROD so I bought another it died as well. I finally bought a slim one and it was excellent, but after years and years of dropping money on systems and live account. I decided to buy a PS3 no online fee and free games. Xbox1 needs to drop the xboxlive nonsense and give users the ability to at least users the ability to watch apps without an account. I'm a true gamer not a fanboy of either.

The game looks awesome there's no doubt about that. I'm buying a PS4 and I'm jealous, but I'm pretty sure Sony has some amazing titles along the way that I could do without this title. When I bought my 360 at launch I was slightly jealous of Sony putting out Killzone2, but I eventually bought a PS3 as well. This is what makes these systems great is there exclusive titles. Both consoles should have brought a bit more to the table instead the barely handful they have.
