Does the PS Vita PCH-2000 looks wider than the original or is it just me?

Skate-AK4243d ago

In the preview picture it looks bigger to me also.

Soldierone4243d ago

Doesn't make sense to me, it got bigger where it should have been shrunk down....

tubers4243d ago

The 2K is officially a few mm wider and taller than the OG VITA.

it's thinner though.

adorie4243d ago

I think it was smart to ditch OLED because of the burn-in. Some people are already experiencing burn-in on their Vitas.

While OLED is supposed to be more energy efficient and provide a more robust looking display, LED is more proven tech that should last longer.

teedogg804243d ago

Never heard about burn-ins on the Vita. Had mine since launch and haven't gotten any. I thought only plasma tv's had that problem.

HakatoX4243d ago

Nope, it's there.
I use the browser constantly and I have ghost lines where the browser bars are... Mine is a launch FEB bundle. I noticed it after about 8 months.

Otoshigamisama4242d ago

that sir because you know how to take care of your game system simple as that and hats off to you :)
I wish many owners will be like you and stop complaining if its their fault to begin with that they suffered burn-in issues

Otoshigamisama4242d ago

I wrote this many times now, Burn-in issues lies not in the system but of the user, We owners must learn to look ahead of the problem to prevent the problem its our duty as the owner of the system to take care of our own things right? So if users suffered this problem its their fault to begin with cause they did not took care of their own game system.

HakatoX4236d ago

And some of us were not aware of burn-in being an issue since the 90's and old monitors.

I didn't know as users we had to limit ourselves or ration our use of products we purchased to use... I don't know... at our will and leisure? Otherwise we arent taking care of our products? I see a heavy flaw in this logic.

If burn in was an issue it should have been addressed by Sony and we should have been told of preventative measures .

I love my Vita, and once I'm able to remote play PS4 games on it my love for Vita will only grow exponentially. My one and only gripe about the Vita is the battery life, so these new models are pretty enticing. Can't wait to see reviews of the new LED screens compared to the gorgeous oled screens. If they're nearly identical I may switch to the new model. If not, I see a Nyko power grip purchase in my future.

DivineAssault 4243d ago

its a lower cost model so the vibrancy is compromised.. Id stick with the original for now until an even newer version releases.. Its inevitable.. That extra hr of battery is a very tempting feature but it comes at a cost.. What i like about the new model is the start/select buttons

GdaTyler4243d ago

Yeah, I found the start/select buttons a little hard to press since they're small and I have large hands.

HakatoX4243d ago

The Nyko Powergrip is really good... although it kinda fizzled out in two months of constant use.

Clover9044243d ago

Two months isn't too long :(

Thanks for the headsup.

nevin14243d ago

Is the face buttons bigger?

izumo_lee4242d ago

I will keep my original Vita cause that OLED is worth every penny. However those looking for a cheaper but still just as capable system they now have an option.

Which ever model one chooses it is a worthy purchase cause people are missing out on what the Vita can & will be.

I wonder if it’ll be a Remake or simply a Remaster though. Remake suggests a complete rework and overhaul like with FF7.

Jigga6916d ago

I have read it will be a remake but only one game.

Cacabunga16d ago

Remaster is already out.
Remake will blow my mind!! I didn’t play this for a very long time and day one collector edition. One of the most memorable games from PS1

PixelOmen15d ago

FF7 is a lot more than just a remake. It's a more like a re-imagining bordering on a reboot/sequel. There are plenty of remakes that are not just remasters that don't go anywhere near that far. Examples include Demon's Souls (2020), Resident Evil (2002), Tony Hawk 1+2, etc.

jznrpg16d ago

It’s been rumored a long time now so hopefully it is soon.

GooGobbler16d ago

is 9 really the best in the series? i'm not into FF but i heard a few fans make that claim

LiViNgLeGaCY16d ago

Even though it's not my PERSONAL favorite, I would say yes, it's the best game in the series.

Shane Kim16d ago

7 & 9 for me. It's a lot more simple and charming than many other FF games, but still has layers of complexity. It also have my (and many others) favourite character in any FF, Vivi.

Snookies1216d ago

6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 are generally considered the best of the series. That was the golden age for Final Fantasy. They're all quite different from each other though. So it's impossible to really say which one is the "best" in the series. Since their tone, setting, characters, world & gameplay is always changing.

Nittdarko15d ago

You hit the nail on the head, I think the reason 6-10 are considered the best is because they all excel at something unique and stand out
6 is very much the majora's mask of the FF series, it has a massive cult following and has the best villain
7 is the face of FF and a general entry point into series and the first 3D FF, the materia system is 10/10
8 is the dark horse and the most adult and the junction system is the most complicated out of the series (my personal favourite)
9 is the most charming one and although it has dark moments its generally quite light hearted and feel good
10 critically I would say is the best one with the best single player story to any FF and the graphics leap was insane from PS1 to PS2 and whenever I recommend an JRPG I say FF10

Kakashi Hatake16d ago

Not at all, good but overrated. I have no idea why.

FinalFantasyFanatic16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

7 for me, most would say 6 or 7, but FF9 was well known for being underrated, even for it's time, I rank FF9 pretty highly, even if it's not my favourite.

Snookies12 pretty much has the right idea, you can't go wrong with the golden era of Final Fantasy.

Dudebro15d ago

9 was the last great traditional ff game.ffx was great but it was the beginning of the end.ffx paved the way for what we know as ff today.
