The Outcast over at COG gets some hands-on time with EA’s exclusive shooter and walk away very impressed with what is offered.
"I had a chance to play Titanfall this past week while attending PAX Prime 2013. For those wondering, it was a PC build using the Xbox 360 controller. When I asked the staff on the floor about how close to the Xbox One build this demo was, they said they are optimizing what we played to be close to both PC and the Xbox One. As I put the controller down after my playtime it was evident that there is one game that Titanfall has in its crosshairs, and that game is Call of Duty. I found my limited time with the game very enjoyable and as I watched others play throughout the day it came clear to me that this game really has some great aspects that could make it the next great competitive FPS for fans of the genre to play and challenge Call of Duty for this crown."
In a simple and concise post on Twitter, head of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella responded to fan requests for a Titanfall x Helldivers 2 crossover two love heart emojis, praising the idea.
Popularized by Doom in 1993 and still making video game haters gnash their teeth today, first-person shooter games are the best thing to happen to gamers since pizza rolls. So here are 15 underrated first-person shooter games you may have missed.
Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.
Lol
All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.
XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games
I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games
Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
I see everybody falling all over Titan Fall, and it seems as if the game, by strategic media design, was blessed to be the next big thing.
But when I look at "next big thing" titles, they just happened. There was no need for manufactured hype...
But Titanfall? IGN posts about 4 articles praising the thing in one week - and so too do the big media outlets - like EA/MS are paying big bucks to force this game down our collective throats.
But I'm not buying the hype just yet... If it's good, then PC is my go - but I'll wait and see what else, apart from this one level, the game has to offer.
Real talk.
It's going to be hard to go back to Call of Duty for anyone that buys this. I can already see it. They're going to have so many more gameplay mechanics in Titanfall
Just thinking about trying to find the area and the right moment to drop your Titan without getting shot by a sniper or taking out a group of enemies before you jump in your Titan sounds so satisfying
There's also the multiplayer campaign aspect, different classes for pilots and Titans, and after the round you still have to make it back to your extraction point
It would help if it was multiplatform, the more people who play this the better, because it looks fun as hell.
It really isn't that difficult to beat call of duty. Quite a few games have done it over the years.
It won't even put a dent in COD sales until it's released across all platforms. Also COD is like a Hershey's bar, there are plenty of better chocolate bars out there, but Hershey's will always sell the most.
