Kind of wonder why they can't release a patch for 60fps. I don't expect a native ps5 just a patch to allow the original PS4 version run at 60 on ps5. They did it for the red dead redemption remaster.
I just got the platinum a few weeks ago.. I would replay the whole main story in 60FPS if this happens.
I tried forcing my self to play it on ps5 recently and the 30fps killed it for me I just can't do it.
Played the pc online version and it was just a joy playing it at 1440p 80+ FPS.
It needs far more than 60fps, better resolution, fix the trash checkerboard rendering that somehow makes 1440p look worse than 1080p, fix the input lag, and fix the wack HDR implementation.
The fact that they've been called out on it by several sources and still haven't done a thing. It's just ridiculous

It would be better off thrown out....like trash. Hell even Digital Foundry reccomends forcing a 1080p output over 1440p for a clearer image, and even just made a new video like a week ago bringing up that problematic soft checkerboard rendering again.

Anast, I’ve played Red Dead on my LG oled, it looked better with HDR turned off. The fact however that Gran Turismo in HDR looks superb on the same screen pretty much says it all. HDR in Red Dead is broken.
I've been waiting for this since getting my ps5 I don't think it's a big ask the game sold 32 million copies plus.
There's already homebrew out there to achieve this on modded consoles.
Knowing Rockstar they probably want to release a native version but will delay it over and over like GTA v which didn't need a native port tbh a 60fps patch would of been fine.
I predict however were more likely to get GTA IV remastering ported to PS4/5/switch same as rdr

Spent so much time having to fix the original game they didn't make it to this.
Those images are so early in design, they probably had 100s of things outlined like this for potential content. Not likely at all an expansion, just some ideas for the game in general that were never utilized. I mean, you end up in space at the end of the game as it is, they likely thought at some point to include more and didn't.
Meh. Mad respect to them for not only fixing it, but also making possibly the best looking path-traced PC game still to this day.
I bought it day 1 and didn't even finish it cause it just wasn't for me - but whenever i get a 40 (or 50) series GPU i'll be heading back in. I aint even attempting the path tracing with my 2080 Super lol
Thanks to all those patches the og version is a destant memory.
For those that remember version 1.0 or the ps4 day one disc versions there was alot of stuff already in the game half done like a entire map built can be accessed on pc but 0 things to do 0 npc 0 traffic even that mission area floating in the sky.
Heck i am sure some on here remember seeing the square pink blocks with "missing texture" text the floating/moving subway car going through buildings and the trash year one police/npc ai.
The game was alpha borderline beta day one now its version 1.0 still not what we were promised but you can play it now.
So missing dlc is/was the least of its issues heck i have a first version of the strategy guide with sections of missing items even entire stores not in the ingame.

Just makes you wonder what it must have been like at one time before legal came in to remove any references that would end in a lawsuit then the celeb keno tie in that no doubt is the reason we get that bs cutscene that rushes through the first part of the game. Such a piss poor managed title with way to much crunch with a company that now worships esg culture so dam sad.

Franchise preferences aside, this article is correct. PS4 is a much better value, especially if you plan on using PS+.
Then again, hobbies aren't always about value. Sometimes it's fine to spend extra if it's what you want. Saving $100 and buying a PS4 does you no good if you just GOTTA play Halo, and the new Kinect functionality does you no good if you don't have cable. It's all about what YOU value.
I've spent upwards of $180 to make a custom arcade stick and that's on the LOW end of arcade sticks. Was it a good value? Heck no. It was pure vanity, and that's okay.
Still not interested in the Xbox One. Just giving my opinion.
Sorry, but that depends on the person. I get more value out of xb1 but someone else may not.

I agree with this. I'm getting an Xbox, but I'm getting a PS4 first because it does basically everything the Xbox does at $100 cheaper (besides Kinect, which isn't required anymore)and (in my opinion) better games, as well as a better track record of games and support for PS3. I'm awaiting the unannounced games from their other studios. But I'll be getting an Xbox for Halo, Gears, Forza, Titanfall, and Dead Rising, and to play with my side of the family that plays on Xbox. Great experiences to be had on both, but PS4 offers more longevity to me. Oh, and PS+.
