You can't jump over the pole on SMB, I tried it. If you somehow happen to get above it it'll bring your ass right down to the pole and you'll slide down. My friend once conned me into doing a bunch of crazy stuff in Rival Schools to unlock the edit mode that was removed from the US version but is still listed on the back of the case. I wanted to kick his ass when I realized he was lying.

A modded version of SMB allows you to jump over the pole, the one with the uber jump . I've seen it done on one of the versions of SMB in FamiCom.

I had the game shark and it let you jump over...and if you kept moving to the right, you couldn't get back and the timer would just run out

What's all this about Polybius? Sounds interesting to say the least.

I have to admit, the Polybius arcade is what sucked me into this. I don't know anyone who has a ROM or has seen anything but the screenshot posted. Guys in black suits near arcades always scare me. I picture the Agent from "The Matrix". Can anyone from Oregon update us on this?

Also isn't that arcade cabinet just scary looking???

Polybius is an exageration. It was an arcade game that had to many flashes in its gameplay. It caused seizures (to people who already had seizures) and this is where the warning has come from. If you read the back of any game it has a warning about seizures. The men in black thing... fake

We spent hours on a game called 'skool daze' trying to see if we could get our schoolboy character to actually sleep with the girl in the school (you could kiss her). That's what everyone was telling us was possible. And my mate reckoned he'd hacked teletext using the rmote control ... ahhh to be young and daft :)

My brother jumped over the flagpole in super mario.
That was on an original NES. Remember it so well.. You could just run and run for eternity.. So I know it is possible without modding.
