Hardcore Gamer: I feel weird criticizing Nintendo for lazily designed Pokemon these last couple of generations, especially when their first generation included Pokemon that were a seal creature named Seel and a mime Pokemon named Mr. Mime, but at least those didn't look absolutely ridiculous
Pokémon’s shift to 3D was a big mistake, as the series’ roots in 2D design make it difficult to transfer important game mechanics into a 3D overworld.
why do other games pull off 3D monster collecting JRPG games just fine? Look at Jade Cocoon and Shin Megami Tensei for examples.

The Pokemon Company has a solid thing going right now. Well, it’s been going on for a while, actually, but it has been a while since a new typing has been introduced to the popular monster-taming series. The latest one, Fairy type, was introduced back in Generation VI (Pokemon X & Y), so it does seem like it is time to bring in a new one. Check out Jason Capp's article for more.

The design is, in my opinion, perfectly fine...
I just don't understand Pokemon "fans" these days I guess.
Dude, it's a sword that unsheathes itself in battle. That's freakin' awesome. It's ghost and steel a lethal new combination and swords is a perfectly logical choice for a region based on Europe where old/enchanted swords are part of the mythos.
This thing is awesome! I can't wait to have this in my party, I bet it has a super cool evolution.
