"Dead Rising 3 moves away from being a Dead Rising game"

:(

CaptainYesterday4395d ago

Hopefully the next trailer or demo of the game has some silly outfits and less serious.

Lord_Sloth4395d ago

Maybe some freaking color too!

DasTier4395d ago

The 1st few seconds of the e3 trailer told us that its not a completely serious game, did you not hear the comical thwack sounds when hitting zombies with a wrench? Anyway 3 looks to be better than the last 2.

Mr_Nuts4395d ago (Edited 4395d ago )

Well I think we can all agree that despite being what was a core mechanic of the first DR game, the time limit, nobody actually liked it did they, well the majority of people anyway

People wanted to go out and have fun without keep restarting their games again

UnHoly_One4395d ago

Yeah I can't disagree with that.

I'm sure the game will be fun, but I always liked the time limit thing just because it was unique, you know?

AppleSlime4395d ago

Seriously, just looks like Saints Row: Zombie Apocalypse, now. Not that that doesn't sound fun. I just think the ridiculous save points and failing to save people because of time constraints really added to the actually being a game part of the series.

"i didn't bother reading the article and only read the title"
-your comment translated -_-
although it will still have a mode dedicated to it"
in other words stop complaining

UnHoly_One4392d ago

I read the article, and see that there is a "mode" that will follow the old style.

But with that being a special mode that most people won't use, it's not quite the same.

And I'm not really complaining, just making an observation... I will play it either way, honestly.

I found this article in the X360 section, but I don't think this will be on the 360. I was really bummed when I saw this was an XBOne exclusive, since I am getting a PS4. But looking at the comments in the article, people were saying they were getting rid of psychos, and they are definitely getting rid of a lot of the humor, which basically takes away from it being a dead rising game. I loved the first one, and enjoyed the second one. I was really impressed with what I saw in the demo during the show, but if they don't have the crazy bosses, I don't think I'll miss it as much as I thought.

I hope it will make it's way to PS4. I really liked this game.

CaptainYesterday4395d ago

Me too I really enjoyed Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record probably one of my favourite Zombie games :)

gantarat4395d ago

Don't Worry Capcom Love Re-release game.

CrossingEden4392d ago

not owned by capcom, the game is being published by microsoft studios, not capcom

WeAreLegion4395d ago

They will start porting it to the PS4 in December, after the Xbox One flops.

Gravitic4395d ago

All inventory has sold out on Amazon, I shall be buying one along with PS4. Explain to me the flop again, anonfag?

WeAreLegion4395d ago

All inventory of the Wii U sold out at many retailers before release.

So freakin' what?

WeAreLegion4395d ago

Desperate, lonely zombie apocalypse with no escape?

Call in an air-strike!

despair4395d ago

LMAO yea I was laughing so hard when I saw that. gritty desperate fighting, nearly dying in a car and then airstrike. For a few minutes I though it was a Saints Row game. But then again that's in line with dead rising's goofiness.

What Happened To The Dead Rising Series?

Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.

Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...

Darksonic221783d ago

Ah no, I just felt like writing it as I started playing the game again and wanted to offer up my opinions 😁

InklingGirl1783d ago

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the title.

MadLad1783d ago

Complacency and new teams who didn't understand what made the series special.

Darksonic221783d ago

Seems like there was just a ton of infighting aswell and so many more issues. Honestly sadly Dead Rising 5 before it was cancelled sounded nothing like dead rising, nothing learnt from. Dr4 at all.

ColdSin1783d ago

DR4 should have not been made anyways. DR3 closed everything nicely.

darthv721783d ago

Check out the vid i posted above.

MadLad1783d ago

They're a solid channel. I always click on their vids, unless it's a series/game I simply have no interest in.

RamRod881783d ago

They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.

DeadManMMX1783d ago

This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.

Gamerking821783d ago

But you never know it might be RISING again someday .

moriarty18891783d ago

haha yes it may....good one.

The Decade's Bizarre and Quirky Gaming News

VGChartz's Patrick Day-Childs: "2020 is upon us! The past decade has had some downs, like the influx of monetisation within full games, Blizzard's community backlash and EA winning the worst company in America award twice, but also some ups, like the leaps in understanding gaming from more mainstream companies to wholesome news like gamers helping preserve a controller signed by someone’s deceased mum.

The decade has also been the highlight of some… bizarre news, and I decided collect together some of the more obscure and quirky stories to make you giggle or question what the hell happened this decade."
