God Mode Review [Horrible Night]

Ethan Moses: "Saying God Mode does a good job of being a budget priced game may seem like an underhanded compliment, but what is being offered fits quite snug in its ten dollar package. There’s definitely a place for these games, though I don’t see it taking the place of the heavier hitters in your library. Still, God Mode’s low barrier of entry is only going to simplify your journey to bro-op boom town and that’s never a bad thing."

Bethesda launch ‘Paid Mods’ version 2.0 with ‘Creation Club’ Will it work second time round?

The Bethesda Key Note at E3 2017 was definitely a brief affair, but something i saw triggered an old, unsettling memory! Back in 2015 Bethesda and Valve teamed up to produce a marketplace through S…

I know they are only mods. However bethesda is also putting work into each and everyone of them to make sure they don't disabled trophies/achievements and don't break the game. I think this is the QA Sony wanted from them when the whole PS4 mod fiasco was going on.

So you can simply look at it as micro DLC other than mods. Considering bethesda are helping the moddders out. As long as they don't go asking $5/£5 for a new skin for a sword then am ok with it. Ill happily give the modders my money.

Also I have to ask. Was that crab armour I saw at the end of the video?

Ashlen2880d ago

That amount is exactly what they are asking.

And how much money do you think Bethesda will take versus what the modders get? It failed the first time because to put it simple, people don't want to pay for mods.

Vex2880d ago (Edited 2880d ago )

There is little work in making sure mods don't disable trophies/achievements, in fact, there's already a mod for that.

And as for not breaking the game, Authors already do vigorous testing of the mods which is then backed up by users. Even Bethesda can't prevent two conflicting mods from breaking the game.

Its just another attempt to milk the games even more.

I know some of you don't agree with me and that is absolutely fine I understand. But I think Totalbiscuit hit the nail on the head in his Bethesda E3 youtube video last night. This is more like micro DLC than mods. Mods are still going to be available for free on both PC and consoles.

What they are selling is as I mentioned is micro dlc. That both 3rd party members and bethesda have created. I personally think it's great moders are getting paid for there work.

They probably noticed Warframe does this with the Tennogen merchandise, and decided to try a similar situation with user created mods with a tight QA dept. I already sold both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Remastered, so it doesn't matter to me, but it's good for those who want to try something new.

I do have to ask though; was the price hike of the Season Pass for Fallout 4 really worth it? Couldn't they have made some sort of incentive like "Season Pass owners get content free" or something along those lines?

I did watch the Bethesda conference, and wasn't impressed at all; even at the end with the joke involving dropping acid and the chameleon was there. At the beginning it looked like something Fallout related, but ended up being a sequel to a game (left the game out to prevent spoilers just in case).

This is still an attempt to monetize something that is currently free (and likely will remain that way, at least on PC). Skyrim and Fallout 4 are bought and paid for. No one owes Bethesda anything to continue using their flexibility and functionality.
